SONG ENSNARING SIREN part I
She was born
as one with Earth,
no love entered
in her birth!.
Shunned,
stunned,
story begun
alone!.
Heart in
danger
of meeting
stone!.
The world
had no place for her,
every day,
her life unsure,
she raised defiant blue eyes,
refused to let them cry!.
But Earth
gave her shelter,
and loved her,
devoted!.
She stumbled upon
the five pointed star,
from home, from life,
from hope flung far!.
A white robed daughter
of the moon
saw soul's own slaughter,
reached with athame
gleaming bright,
peered with mantic
second sight!.!.!.

The poem began to come alive to me as you moved into the stanzas with the longer lines - and strangely the last two worked for me, altho' I have no idea who athame is or what mantic means (I particularly like - from five pointed star, from home, from life, from hope flung far - the alliteration trips off the tongue!.
But Earth
gave her shelter
and loved her
devotedly
(devoted doesn't sound right to me) and the rhythm isn't lost by using devotedly!.

While you do have talent in the area of writing poetry, your subject matter is damaging to your soul!. Dabbling in the craft, or even entertaining thoughts of dabbling, allows spirits to enter that will take you over and harm you!.
