i read somewhere that poetry is
"what spills over the edges of everyday life"
i think that is true!. I think poetry is a bit of someone soul!. Like other art forms, you wrench apart a bit of your soul and offer it for others to see!. You wrap it in your art form in as many layers as you like, then quietly offer it, hope desperately that they won't laugh, scoff, reject it!. You hope it contains and conveys the raw emotion of your soul still, after all this distortion or embellishment but you know the poetry is not emotion alone!. Poetry is nothing without emotion but emotion is nothing but emotion without punchy or aesthetic expression!. You dodge the cliches, hackneyed predictability mines and someone hope that you've delivered that bit of your soul, to the liteary stage, intact, as little distorted and fragmented as you could keep it for the journey!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

My personal opinion on poetry!. Poetry is a way of self-expression, yes, but if you do that too much you abuse the art form and get things like modern art which is, once again in my opinion, a gross distortion from the original!. Poetry is capturing a moment, a moment that you distinctly feel, a homily with a universal moral, something that can connect or be connected too!. That is why the three main topics of poetry are sorrow, love, and nature!. Every human knows sorrow, every human desires love, and ever human is a part of nature!. Poetry is the search for connection on the universal emotional plane!.!.!.reaching out a finger to touch, to know, to understand and to be understood!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
