Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: i read somewhere that poetry is "what spills over the edges of everyday life" i think that is true!. I think poetry is a bit of someone soul!. Like other art forms, you wrench apart a bit of your soul and offer it for others to see!. You wrap it in your art form in as many layers as you like, then quietly offer it, hope desperately that they won't laugh, scoff, reject it!. You hope it contains and conveys the raw emotion of your soul still, after all this distortion or embellishment but you know the poetry is not emotion alone!. Poetry is nothing without emotion but emotion is nothing but emotion without punchy or aesthetic expression!.
