Bay Gulls
by TD Euwaite

I turned about to watch her set sail
As the Long Island Sound splashed and sang
Headsail filled with air and away
From bowsprit to tiller
She moved along her sloop
As if she was born on the sea
Her mainsail taught and driving
She commanding
A sailor, true
A wind blown beauty

A compliment, a bouquet

Mirrored peerless
Masterful and fearless
The image true
The sky a soundless blue
And on my paper mainsail
Launches sharp and hale
A shadow of a gull
From my pen my landlocked hull
Bravo! Bravo! he cries
as off to cloud he flies!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
