Position:Home>Poetry> Poetry...I never knew?

Question:I've always had an interest in poetry reading (Rimbaud, burroughs, some collected poems) and writing (hey diddle diddle comes to mind) Anyways i've just read some amazing info on wiki about meter and rhyme, and prose and poetry (i'm currently reading Lord Jim so I looked up Joseph Conrad).
What's the best intro book to get a good understanding of what i've been missing with poetry; and who's the best to read-classic and current. Thank you in advance.

Don't start with an instruction. Read the masters. TS Eliot, EA Poe, Rudyard Kipling, Emily Dickinson, ee cummings...the list goes on for miles...Dan Quisenberry (former KC Royals relief pitcher)...you will grow a feel for meter as you go. There are many pieces that will stay inside you for the rest of your life;
"Midsummer Night's Dream"
"The last of the Light Brigade"
"El Dorado"

Sorry, I don't know what yu are talking about...

Please clarify..
