Position:Home>Poetry> Does my shakespearean sonnet suck?

Question:Auburn football gives me that adrenalin rush,
When I'm watching that game.
The scores tide up,
With five seconds left in the final quarter

My heart starts to race
My face gets flushed,
As a chill rolls down my spine.
Im shaking now.

Will he complete the pass?
Or will he fumble?
Is his man even open?
Whatever you do, don't get sacked.

As Brandom completes the pass with no where left to run,
Auburn triumphs in a victory, 28-21.

&& in the second stanza, do you like it how it is or would it be better if it said..

My heart starts to race
Faster, and faster, and faster
My face gets flished
As a chill rolls down my spine.

i liked it specially the auburn football description.. except I'm not sure what a Shakespearean sonnet is.

maybe just a little... jk its pretty good. but im not a pro critic, so dont take my word... take it to the head hanchos.

well its not quite technically a shakespeareans sonnet yet... you need to use iambic pentameter and make sure that all lines are of an equal length... I also like the 2nd stanza as is the first time...

hope this helps!

....it sounds okay,
you had me at football

...but Auburn?!??!Nah baybee

your poem should be about LSU football!!!

It is ok - but it is not a Shakespearean sonnet.
It is not in iambic pentameter, and apart from the final couplet it doesn't rhyme.
Maybe your teacher thinks that doesn't matter - but it does.
How would you feel about a football game that was played underwater with no ball?
