Question:These I have loved

Smell of soft earth mixed with the wintery prick of minty pine
The haunting whistle of wind whipping in the broken silence
These are what I have loved
The intoxicating twinkle of silver stars stuck in eternity
Simple thoughts of wondering
These are what I have loved
Musty scent of thunder in the air, the sheer power of lancing lightning
The patter of the harsh elements on the canvas door
These are what I have loved
Sticky dew illuminating golden halos in the watery moon
Cold rain drenching me like a holy bath
These are what I have loved
Wild adventure driven by innocent desire
Sweet sorrow of parting until the next time
This is what I have loved, This is what I have missed.

Is this poem any good and can you tell what it is about?
Thanks for answering

This poem is very good indeed.

It is about longing and regret, but also about the love for life, and the ability to treasure that which is valuable even in the face of heartache.

There is also, in the last line, a sense that these things are what the person referred to as "I" WOULD have loved -- if given the chance, so perhaps it's all a flight of fancy.

Either way, it's an excellent poem, and I think you have talent!

I agree, you are very talented, I see perhaps your childhood, and some of the things you miss, and you know now, that it's impossible to get that first time magic back
