Question:the fallen dry leaves
are heard outside--as
children discover
beauty in the sound
of their death; the
climatic crispness
a choir of voices
that refuses to be
swallowed by
the voracious madness
a moth disguised as a leaf
clings to the frozen;slick wall
his claod a myriad of
kaleidoscope browns--patterns
fromerly arranged in the manner of german soldiers--
so actutely organzed
chaos can never break them

The poem meditates on the presence of beauty and joy even in the presence of death, and order even in chaos. It takes it from its most banal (children crunching dead leaves with joy) to its most stark (patterns formerly arranged in the manner of German soldiers -- so acutely organized; this is a reference to the madness, death, and obsessive-compulsive behavior of the Nazis.)

Above this, however, the poet refers to "a choir of voices that refuses to be swallowed by the voracious madness" -- in that lies hope, and also courage in the face of despair.
