Question:I have to write poetry for school and i enjoy poetry and like reading it but i seem to have trouble witting it, if anyone has any tips or sites with advice it would be much appreciated thanks (I'm looking for advice specifically on rhythm and the flow of poems and use of symbolism but any info is fine)

Shattered is incorrect. Poetry is as much a craft as an art, and a majority of an author's time is spent not writing, but rewriting.

Rhythm is part of the syllabic structure of a poem; rhythm is not as important in free-style poetry as it is in certain structured poetry, such as the sonnet and the ode. Flow can be part of syllabic rhythm, but can also be found apart from it -- alliteration, rhyme, and onomatopoeia ("soundy" words, like crunch) all contribute to flow.

Symbolism is the use of concrete, distinct objects to describe abstract topics like love, loss, hate, desire -- or the use of concrete objects to describe situations, like war or peace.
