Position:Home>Poetry> Does anyone know of any poetry contests that have cash prizes?

Question:You can go to Poetry.com they're always having contests. I've won a couple of them with a few of my poems. All you have to do is submit your poem (they do have size and line limitations) and give your address and name. They'll send you a letter in the mail. This way you can make any changes to your poem if needed and you can initial to say that it is your own work. Then you put in a hundred word little synopsis of why you wrote the poem. Then you mail it back. They'll let you know then if they've chosen you to win or even chosen your poem to go into a book of poetry.

I hope I've helped you out.

Go to http://pw.org/classifieds . It's the online source for Poets & Writers magazine and if you click the CONTESTS button right at the top, the majority of them have a cash prize.

Also submitting to your local newspapers Sunday section, like the human interest section, can also tie in some extra cash.
