Do poets write their poems, or make up the name of the poem first?

Question:I was wondering because usually when i write poetry, i make r a name because i usually know what im writing about, and then write my poem. Or after my poem i revise the name. i was wondering what professional poets do?

I wouldn't really call myself a "professional" poet. I've just been published a few times but I usually write the poem and then make up a title.
I find it easier that way because when I write, sometimes I don't even know what I'm going to write about or what the final poem will be like. I just let my heart take over and my head convey the words.

i would think they would write it first, then choose a title that can explain their poem.

honestly i may not be a professional, but I write the poems first, I always have trouble with naming them. I write a lot and it is the hardest part for me.

Sometimes one single word can spark an entire poem. In that case, that word is often the name of the poem. Other times, the title will come organically from a word or phrase within the poem as it is written, revised, rewritten, etc.

I'm not a pro but I sometimes write the poem then the title but then sometimes I get a title then write the poem. Sometimes the title or a word inspires a whole poem like halcyon fields inspired me to write a poem called A Remember Me From God. Halcyon if you don't know means peaceful. I would think that a professional poet would be writing down a poem when he/she gets a inspiration then writes a title.
