ONE MUST BE FREE TO DO WHATEVER HE/SHE LIKES TO ENJOY!. BUT TO FOLLOW THE OTHER COUNTRIES TRADIONS will take you away from your own tradions!.you think is it good while you live in INDIA and act like westeren!? you know the what happend yesterday in karnataka(manglore) in the pub!.i know 1000 times the police catch the peoples in mumbai bars and dance bars but still it is countinueing!. what you can say about it!?thanks!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

im indian too and i understand that it can be frustrating to see people straying farther and farther away from the true values!.!. but no country is perfect and neither are it's people!. and if you think you are one of the few to not be affected, then it is your responsible to set an example to as many people as you can, one step at a time, one person at a time!. being frustrated and complaining wont help you or anyone elseWww@QuestionHome@Com

Maybe they desire to be individuals!. If you want to be strictly Indian in tradition please do not write in English, use computers, or engage in western technological activities!. Value the individual more than the mass of faceless souls that are traditions!. Things change, accept it!. The Western world uses the Indian number system should they go back the Roman number system!? The Chinese invented paper money should every none Chinese not use paper money!? Slum Dog Millionaire has already won many awards in America should Americans not watch an Indian film!?(Are Americans acting Indian when they enjoy Indian entertainment!?)

(I am not Indian but have been to the county many times!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com

we are in a free country we must be allowed to do what we want, to judge the act
as right and wrong should come from within, one can suggest but not force to follow
any culture or tradition!. Whatever the culture may be but each culture is man-made and another
man is having total freedom to make a choice!. I pity on the people who cannot understand this simple fact!.
What happend in Karnataka is not good!. If they young people were doing wrong the people
who took such an actions are no good either!. Attacking on our own people just because they are doing what some people dont like is like

*I fully understand what u r trying to say !!
But it sure is sad, that the youth of today is aping the western culture w/out even realising the consequences !!!
Maybe they feel its 'not fashionable' to stick to the indian values & traditions & culture !!
They do it probably to just 'fit in' with the so called modern society ~~~
They don't want to be left out !.!.!.!.!. but be a part of the crowd !!!
Easy money & not much moral values & beliefs have led to such a behaviour !!
Even most of the parents are helpless & watch the events helplessly !!
I hope the youth wakes up in time & see what the west is going thru & take a lesson or two from that !!~?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Which traditions are we talking about here!? Child brides!? Prejudicial caste systems!? Soul-crushing poverty!?

Or just not eating cows!?

Every culture has some good things about it, and some things that suck!. The idea is to keep the good, while eliminating the things that suck!.

Not allowing dancing!? That falls on the side of "suck!."Www@QuestionHome@Com

What I think is that English language and Western culture are left overs of the British when they Quit India!. It is too late to filter India!. Unless the country is self satisfied with its resources there is no point in arguing about tradition!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
