Do you think all people are capable of being socialized to have no empathy, to be able to kill and torture others with no conscience, perhaps even for their own amusement!? Like pulling the wings off of flies!? Even if most people have a sense of empathy, don't we all also have something else in us, like a carnal amusement!? In the past, people would gather around executions just to see other die!. Today, we watch horror movies and revel in that same carnal amusement!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well i think humans are curious!. why else when there is a house fire or car wreck do people slow down to watch!? destruction fascinates us!. empathy is a developmental stage that we become able to do around 5ish or so!. when we become able to see other people's points of view and understand that what we do has affects on other people!. some people missed this stage or are mentally incapable of it such as sociopaths and psychopaths!. people also like to see perceived justice being served!. they wanted to see them being punished and of course the curiosity and parade like atmosphere of such hangings and beheading!. about the current horror movies i think that is more about being able to feel the rush of adrenaline that fear gives you without actually being in danger!. similar to roller coasters!. along with that fascination with destruction i was talking about!. there is always a bit of beauty in ripping something apart!. in those situations you see the core of a person and who they truly are!. it takes all the masks away and gives a good look at the real person that you wouldn't ever see in any other situation!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, and that is also called Murder!. Watching a Movie , isn't reality its just a movie!. Not everyone watches those type of movies!.

My boyfriend and I were just arguing about this!. He thinks that most people would kill someone if they knew they wouldn't be caught and I said the opposite!. I don't know why, I just don't think the average person has it in them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
