If you can live threw something terribly and hard then most likely it will make you stronger!. However just because you don't physically from an experience in your life does not mean that it can't kill you mentally!. Whatever happened that was bad could have been so bad that it haunts you for the rest of your life driving you completely mad, from just the memory of it!. So I guess you could say it depends on the way interpret it!. Somethings can tear you don't to the point that you have nothing but your body left because your mind is so far gone!.!.!. and that's not living but it didn't kill you physically either!. I look at it not in the physical sense but mental sense!. So to me yes it's true!. But physically not so much!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Certain things make you weaker!. How can everything one goes through really be good when people end up scarred for life after a horrific event!? Some people have unnatural aversions to certain objects or sounds- this can be tracked back to some past trauma!. Personally I have an aversion to gum chewing- the sound drives me to the point of insanity!. Something in my past most likely brought this about because I wasn't born with this problem!. A person who is raped certainly does not come out of the incident thinking that it made them stronger!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Or it cripples you for life, drives you insane, leaves you in prison, any number of things!. Being stronger is an highly subjective concept and only of relevance if there is some benefit to your having that strength!. If you were chained to an oar in a slave galley for the rest of your life you would indeed get physically stronger, but would gaining that strength be worth the loss of your freedom!? Friedrich Nietzche called that the Soldier's Creed and was referring to the hardships attendant to being a soldier on campaign in time of war, trying to make it a universal concept misses the point!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No!. Cream cakes eaten to excess can kill via heart disease but in more moderate amounts can just make you flabby and less mobile - but certainly not 'stronger'!.
Some obviously tough experiences (physical or emotional) can strengthen or weaken - it can cut either way!.
As the man said - it's all relative!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes!. But not always!. You have to ALLOW it to make you stronger, by allowing yourself to find something positive you can learn from it!.
Some people emotionally run from bad things that have happenned, which deprives them from allowing it to make them stronger!. And by doing so, creating their own victimization rather than gaining strength from it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I've got a tree in the backyard!. It hasn't killed me yet, but it hasn't really made me stronger either!.

#2: My grandfather contracted an illness that nearly killed him!. He's never regained the same level of health he had before the incident!.

So an alternate quote might read: "In life, whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger, or it is indifferent, or it mames you forever!."

Cheers!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Isn't there a poll/survey section!?
Doesn't matter I ask questions all the time that probably don't belong here!.
Sometimes this statement is true!.
What I mean is for example someone that is a victim of rape and it ruins their life forever!.
and their love life!.
but that is just one quick example that I can think of right now!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No!. Sometimes if enough bad happens to a person it turns them bitter or causes them permanent mental harm!. I am thinking of a man who was held prisoner in Germany in a dungeon for years!. He came home eventually, but he was mentally ruined for life!. He would carry a large sack of flashlights everywhere he went for fear of being in th dark again!. So I have to disagree with the saying!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No!. I think it's an easy answer to hard questions!. Survival only gives the illusion of strength!.!.!.but there are SO many ways that a person can die!.!.!.emotionally, mentally and spiritually!. Many people gain fortitude in the face of adversity, that's true; and I sincerely admire them!.!.!.but that's more the exception than the rule!.!.!.just look around you!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think this can be true, because when bad things happen, people adapt!. They are resilient!. When you experience something awful--- horrible, terrible--- there is only one thing to do: go forward!. Then again, some people sulk, go crazy, or do themselves in!. So!.!.!.I wonder about this too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Whatever doesn't kill you can build resistance but trauma must heal!. Time heals all wounds but one must consider how much a person can take be for time is no longer an issue!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Nah, stronger compared to what!? The second before the event!? Why should a callus be called strength!? Shields are only needed by those too afraid to fight!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No I believe whatever doesn't kill you can kill you later as in drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, day time t!.v!., etc!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I agree with that!. I'm still standing after a few things that at the time
seemed almost impossible!. But they have gotten better and so have I!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
