Question: What is love!? I know nobody has the answer, but any closest matching answer!?

Why do you think no one has the answer!?

Love is a specific emotional event, not subject to interpretation!. It is what it is!. With the right initial conditions, it must follow, absent any of them, it cannot follow!. Just like a sneeze, orgasm, or itch on your elbow!.

It is a byproduct of emotional connection and communication that reaches a certain threshold depth between two or more people!. When we form that kind of relationship wherein we can feel what the other person feels and we let them feel what we are feeling, directly, then that's friendship!. If the depth of the mutual emotional disclosure and communication deepens beyond a point, then this warm, loving sensation arises of peace, happiness, interest, calmness, safety, etc!., all those things we mean when we say love!. But the glue of it, the engine, is the emotional open pipeline between people!.

For that reason, any intimate emotional communication is a furtherance of love, even an expression of fury, as long as it is emotionally pure and not tainted with rejection or sarcasm!. Rejection is the polar opposite of love and destroys love!. You cannot indulge in rejection if you are lucky enough to have love or you will destroy it!.

The reason more people aren't in love right now is that it is expensive!. It requires a certain depth of self-knowledge, ie, abandonment of denial and delusion, and then no matter how clean you think your clock is, love will clean it more for you, every day!. Meaning, it will reveal more and more of your own emotions to you and more of right and wrong, and more and more wisdom and so on!. In particular, it will strip you naked of your nice, comfortable, familiar defenses - denials and delusions - that you will suddently discover and simultaneously discover are indispensible - you can't live without them, omg!. Well, love strips them all!. But, it does replace them with more love, so it's a fine exchange in the end, but a bit hairy as it's happening!.

One way to distinguish authentic love from addiction and "fatal attractions", which are real, btw, and poisonous, is that love is public!. Pathology requires privacy, but love is comfortable in public and among other loved ones!. Authentic love is not jealous!. Of course it often ignites sexual feelings, and that is appropriate for privacy, but love itself is public!. If you can't be comfortable with your "loved one" when with your posse, something's probably FOS about the "love" you have with that one special person!. It should stand the friend test, the parent test, the dog test, any test!.

For more info, you could read The Art of Loving by Erich Fromm, but it's heavy reading, graduate school level!. Still, it's wonderful and full of real information on love, including some elements of what I've shared here!. Seems to me he's light on the negative impacts of love, concentrates only on the positive!.

That's all!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Love is the state of favoring another's welfare above one's own!. This may seem to be related to carnal desire, pity or the belief that one will be rewarded for seeming altruism - but true love simply exists because one recognizes the object's happiness as more desirable than one's own!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think Buddha said love was of 3 or 4 kinds!. Right!? Sexual, family, friendship, Godly!. And I think they go in reverse order as to their value in relation to how much they make you suffer!.

But to me, just regular man/woman love is, from my experience, a deep attraction-affinity to and caring about another!.

Hope this helpsWww@QuestionHome@Com
