Question: Does having a philosophy really change anything!?
What makes it more than words!? Do we have to act on it!. It seems to me from flicking through questions most peoples answers amount to nothing, just a play on words with a little impact, to be honest it seems a bit pointless everyone trying to analyse things that need not be!. There will never be a right answer, just many different opinions, what's the point of looking so deep to find nothing but more questions!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Yes! - It changes your life, and the lives of those around you , for the better!.

Most answers amount to nothing due to a them being a play on words with little impact - true but the average attention span here is driven down by the kids if you cater to the kids to get Best answers you will end up trying to look cool or smart with a witty one-liner

Well done on arriving in philosophy it can be a bit retarding to answer in polls and surveys as you are discovering

now why would you shun seeking deep understanding in case that depth brings questions!. that's like refusing to go swimming in case you get wet!.

you're on a bit of downer with this facility -don't worry - it hits us all but you have to remember half the people here are kids!. so they are not likely to be valuable for more than one answer at a time!. luckily there is a facility to search for interesting questions to answer and the opportunity to check people profiles and easily find if they are shallow or children - so you can get around the banality and point gaming with just a few clicks!. ( unless of course a person deliberately hides their questions to hide an unsupprtable high % of BA arrived at by point gaming - but then i rarely answer the questions of that type of questioner)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Being philosophical - rather than having a philosophy - helps me at a personal level - Looking at interrelational dynamics without making it all personal and about me - frees me up to change myself and my life!.

Sure; we have to act - without thinking we will act - yet acting in an pre-informed thoughtful way can make all the difference to learning from our own 'mistakes'!.

I think that the point for me in looking deep and finding more questions is that it is a humanising process for me to attempt to understand !. Out of unexamined fear I will act very differently to how I act with love and compassion!.
The process - the how - how I live my life is really important to me - What I think influences how I feel and act!. If I hadnt reprogrammed the software handed down to me by from my family of origin I would be a very antisocial animal thinking that the world was out to get me if I didn't get the boot in first!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

the view that you have that there is no need for deeper looking and more anaylizing is a philosophy itself,
so that'd be your philosophy!
and your view does change things in your life,
no question about it,Www@QuestionHome@Com

philosophy is useful when you apply the knowledge in practical life otherwise it is dust in mindWww@QuestionHome@Com

!.!.!.its like saying whats the point in living when we all have to one day die!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It keeps our mind occupied!.
But I think that having a philosophy is just a personal believe!. So, if you really believe in your own philosophy, it will change!.
You have to believe!Www@QuestionHome@Com
