Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Well, a lot of people consider it to be a human killing another human, but I think that anything with the ability to think and control itself killing a human against his/her will is murder!. Even if, in the future, it is a robot like in iRobot!. I consider an abortion to be murder!. I consider assisted suicide to be stupid, but not murder!.Www@QuestionHome@Com assuming we are just talking about people and not forces of nature or animals, murder is the unjust taking of human life!. if thats the case, then the real question is: what is just and unjust!? and can there ever be a just example of killing!? which really just boils down to: can there exist a situation in which it is morally justifiable to take human life!? if such a situation exists, then killing and murder are not identical, since some forms of killing would not constitute murder!.Www@QuestionHome@Com A living thing capable of thought and decision-making intentionally killing another being of thought/decision-making against their will--whether that will be spoken of, or obviously inferred!. Therefore, abortion, in my opinion, is not murder because the one being killed is not yet capable of thought or decision making, and assisted suicide has a consent!.Www@QuestionHome@Com To commit an act that *directly* ends the life of a conscious and sentient human without that human's consent!. This definition allows for assisted suicide (ending a life with consent) and other forms of life support removal up to and including feeding tube removal and some versions of pre-term pregnancy cessation which only involve removing a fetus from the mother, but do not involve violence against the fetus (conscious and sentient)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Murder is the intentional taking of another's life without their consent!. If I'm dying on a hospital bed and ask the doctor to drug me to the point of death it's not murder in my book!. If i kill someone accidentally while driving it's not murder!.
