Question: Did you ever let your lover see the stranger in yourself!? !?
Someone asked almost this identical question a couple of days ago, but I wanted to redefine it!. Who is the stranger (generally, I am not asking for deep dark secrets) in yourself!? What does this say about identity!? Culture!?

The Stranger, by Billy Joel

"Well, we all have a face that we hide away forever
And we take them out and show ourselves when everyone has gone!.
Some are satin, some are steel,
Some are silk and some are leather!.
They're the faces of a stranger,
But we'd love to try them on!."

"Well, we all fall in love,
But we disregard the danger,
Though we share so many secrets,
There are some we never tell!.
Why were you so surprised that you never saw the stranger!?
Did you ever let your lover see the stranger in yourself!? "

"Don't be afraid to try again!.
Everyone goes south every now and then!.
You've done it!.
Why can't someone else!?
You should know by now!.
You've been there yourself!."

"Once I used to believe I was such a great romancer!.
Then I came home to a woman that I could not recognize!.
When I pressed her for a reason,
She refused to even answer!.
It was then I felt the stranger kick me right between the eyes!."

"Well, we all fall in love
But we disregard the danger
Though we share so many secrets
There are some we never tell
Why were you so surprised that you never saw the stranger
Did you ever let your lover see the stranger in yourself!."

"Don't be afraid to try again!.
Everyone goes south every now and then!.
You've done it!.
Why can't someone else!?
You should know by now!.
You've been there yourself!."

"You may never understand how the stranger is inspired!.
But he isn't always evil and he is not always wrong!.
Though you drown in good intensions,
You will never quench the fire!.
You'll give in to your desire when the stranger comes along!."Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sometimes, we need to keep some secrets!.
"Although our intellect always longs for clarity
and certainty, our nature often finds uncertainty fascinating!."
-Karl von Clausewitz
What does "The Stranger," this say about our identity!? Perhaps it suggests that we don't always know how we will act and who we will be, depending on the circumstance we face!.
Culturally, we keep a lot of secrets and our perceptions are off!. But I think this keeps everyone from fighting and hating!. On the flipside, we don't know who we are, and what we really mean!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

My partner of 35 years knows all the strangers in me!. Some she hates, some she loves, most of them she does not understand or comprehend, but she is still here!.!.!.!.!.!.!. all strangers included!. Some of which, I don't even know about!.
Peace!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You are positively diabolical!. i am weeping buckets!.
He knew me, he knew the stranger!. He brought the stranger out!.
And i drove him away!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, he brought the stranger forth!.!.!.even I couldn't recognise myself! No, it isn't evil or wrong!.!.!.just strange!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, i suppose everyone is entitled to his/her own privacy!. i believe that "what you don't know won't hurt you!."Www@QuestionHome@Com

!.
Persons who I love on deeper level I allow the stranger in me to be seen!.

When at that level of love, I don't feel it's fair to yourself or others to not be free to be yourself!.!.!.that includes all the facets that you're about!.

To be confidently vulnerable is to be yourself!.
A trusted friend, true love wouldn't want to you to be any other way!.
I allow only those I trust to see all aspects of me!.

!.!.!.That being said, your other question of "who is the stranger in me!?" The deeper or surface sides of that are not much different than the average persons!. Still!.!.!.it's not something I'd share in this YA forum!.

How could I "let" anyone see it if it is a stranger to myself!? If I can't see it, nor recognize it, how can I control when and how it's seen to other people!? That aside, if it is along the lines of secrets or the like that you're referring to, it'll come out over time!. Maybe not bluntly, nor stated aloud, but it's fairly difficult to conceal aspects that make up one's person; especially to people we deal with on an intimate and regular basis!.

Who is the stranger in myself!? I don't know, I guess that's why she's a stranger!.

What does this say about identity!? It says that most of what we define ourselves by, is undefinable!. Lovely!.

Culture!? Building off of what was said concerning identity, it is just that but more concentrated and on a larger scale!. It also takes the environment into more consideration than when determining the self alone!.

As for the lover part!. I have sex with people, and I have companionship by way of friends, family, and people I meet; I don't have lovers!. Romantic love in relationships is reserved for the deluded and the oppressed, but, maybe I'm just cranky!? Who knows!.

Anyway, Billy Joel is kickass!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ian Gillan once wrote, "No self-respecting hero ever dies!." But then again, he also said "Can we have everything louder than everything else!?" Okay, all seriousness aside now!.

Who is my "stranger!?" Aggressive and rash, confident and commanding!. Mine is the voice of the real Patton, speaking the "Blood'n'Guts" speech in a whiny drone!. I have shown this stranger to her, and she stood in awe, admiring the success of her heart, that she had not settled for nothing-but-stability and level-headedness after all!.

Yes, this abrasive fool is my genuine facade online here, but in person, I am the embodiment of the expression, "No, there are too many Control Maniacs in the world!."Www@QuestionHome@Com
