Beautiful question!

Authentic love is a love of the soul to another soul!. The first responsibility is to keep this authentic love as authentic and pure as it is!. Over time our weaknesses often take over and we forget about the authentic love!. So one of the responsibilities might be to keep this love alive and set it before anything else and follow this true love to the soul, even if it demands that we have to work on ourselves and change and overcome our own mistakes and shortcomings!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

To me the first thing is to be able to talk to each other and set out limits in behaviour and aspirations!. Next for each to honour those that have been agreed!.
My own experience was that in 1942 i met this beautiful young lady 20 years old!. after courting for a while she said " i wish to remain a virgin until i am married" and we courted for two years and the wish was honoured!. As a result the marriage was sound, strong, contented for 46 years!. It was shortened because she was taken away from me with cancer!. Now i have been 20 years a widower!.
She was irreplaceable!. That defines the aspects of true love!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Authentic love must nurture and be nurtured

I disagree with your assessment!. Love is an emotion like any other!. There are no commitments to love or to any other emotion!. There are no obligations and responsibility because one has a feeling!.

You have asked the most important question there is to be asked!.

Please forgive me, but I am going to quote from the Christian scripture!. I am certain that other such powerful words exist in other scripture, but the Christian scripture is what I am most familiar with!.

This comes from First Corinthians 13!. The entire chapter is worth reading, but I am going to quote verses four through seven!.

"Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not elevate itself; love is not a big show!. Love does not act in an embarrassing way, love does not look for love, love is not provoked and thinks no evil!.

Love does not rejoice in ugliness but finds joy in beauty!.

Love bears all things, believes all good things, hopes for all the best things and endures all things!."

The responsibilities that comes with love are numerous!. I will mention only a few; commitment to the common good, particular devotion to the other, complete mental and spiritual well being the primary focus and complete surrender to self!.

One cannot truly love unless one loves one self!. Again, the Christian scripture tells us that Jesus said, "Love thy neighbor as thyself!." If one does not love one self one cannot love another and the more one loves ones neighbor, the more one loves oneself!.

Love!.

Just love anyway!.

Take the chance!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
