I hear classical music is good to study or read to because it stimulates the intellect!. the brain picks up on all the different musical complexities that are usually characteristic of most classical music even ones we aren't totally aware of (stuff like harmonies, melodies, scales, and many other components that i can't even name)!. that certainly happens with all music, but the effects are usually mostprominentt with classical largely due to the number and type of different instruments used (the lack of lyrics can also play a role)!.

it shouldn't be too surprising!. it takes a keen intellect to become an accomplished compossor as opposed to simply picking up an instrument and strumming away (i say that as a guitar player!. i could never actually compose a symphony, let alone orchestrate one)!. guys like Beethoven, Mozart, and Bach were incredibly intelligent men, incredibly intelligent!. anything by anyone of them is certainly worth your while (but theres also a thousand other wonderful classical compossors to check out as well)!.

on the other side of the equation, i have found that for me personally, less complex, more homegrown grassroots almost folky types of music effect emotions!. especially those with compelling heartfelt lyrics!. lyrics are everything when it comes to emtion (at least to me)!. to start with anyone known to play accousitc guitar is well worth checking out!. The Beatles, Bob Dylan (!), Jack Johnson (!), Ray LaMontagne (!), Ben Taylor, Matt Costa, Ben Harper, Iron & Wine, Sunchild - GiverMan!. Good lyrics can be found anywhere, from classic rock, to alternative, to hip hop!. Just listen to what they have to say!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There is a profound relationship, which many people fail to realize, between aesthetic-emotional experience and intellectual-rational thinking!. The better your aesthetic sensibilities and judgment the more textured and rich is your understanding!. Is there not something that we 'learn' when we experience art!? Beethoven, Mozart, or Shakespeare!? What you learn are the felt-qualities of the understanding!. To illustrate this point, consider something as simple as movement, or the experience of time, both of these illuminate and give shape to our rational conceptions, it's not the other way around!. Hopefully this is clear enough!. To answer your question, music will depend a great deal on the mood that you're in as you experience it, how receptive you are, and so on!. Personally, I listen to instrumental, classical, and otherwise non-vocal music!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

While music can indeed affect your emotions, there is no evidence to suggest that it increases IQ, speeds up mental processes etc!. Certainly some music (classical for instance) is more complex, well-conceived and intricately composed than other types, but listening to that music won't make you smarter, it will simply give you a more advanced appreciation and understanding of music!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I love heavy metal, the ideas and thought being expressed through it normally finds a way to relate to me at a point in the past or influences me to create my future!.I think the best thing I got out of it was the degradation of my concern in what people view me as!.

People will slap as many labels on you as possible, there is no way for someone to truly understand someone so people are going to try to simplify their reality, that mentality is basically the essence of stupidity!. Now do I really want to care about what stupid people think!? My answer is no, I'll respect everyone and I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that they are just as knowledgeable as anyone else!. But don't think for a second I'll hold any allegiance to them if they wrong me, ultimately the only person that matters is myself as every action is rooted to me or one of my goals/ideas/values!. Your lying to yourself if you believe anything else!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
