I will make it a point to say whather I believe people are fair or not in life!. I think that is more important than being good or evil!. As such, a person who is not fair may be evil and a fair one may be good!.

There are many persons I have met in life who believe everything should be fair but I actually know them never to put into practice what they preach!. It is often so with many people!. they are quick to criticize but they do no better when it comes to themselves!.

Having said thus much though I do not totally despair of finding such a person in life!. they have existed in the past and i think there may still be some in the modern era, though only one in a million, or even a billion!. The great sages we hear of were of course fair, or they would never have reached the degree of perfection they had!.

My idea of a fair person encompasses two very broad ideas, that of humanity or of judging rightly!. Of course the practice of these two virtues encompass others, but this is only to put it simply!. I do hope to meet someone really fair one day, but until then I guess I'll have to content myself with admiring certain traits of fairness in people who try to be good and do good!.

On the whole, however, there are very few people I have met in life whom I can safely consider to be good!. Most people show a tendency to be evil and acting for their own purposes to the detriment of others!. Of course, our standard of good and evil is set through the degree of each of these traits we see in people around us!. Conflict and suffering make a person know what is good and what is bad, it shows a person how to discriminate between the fair and te unfair, the evil and those who are not evil!.

Hope this helps!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I agree there are plenty of bad things that have a great impact on the workings of our world, but I think evil itself is an incredibly rare thing!.!.

How many people can you think of that are actually evil!?

Now think about what makes them that way!. Most examples of "evil" are in actual fact cases of;
~naivety (think polititians who think they're doing something for the better),
~small mindedness (racial prejudicm),
~or social disadvantages (i!.e!. the poor who theive, the mentally ill who abuse!.)!.

Luckily however, (I believe) there is good in almost everyone!. It's what keeps our world going!.

Think of the everyday examples;
The love between friends and families
Youth helping the elderly
People recycling
Neighbours sharing their tools
Strangers stopping to help someone who's fallen!.

And then there are bigger movements of "goodness" like environmental groups, charities, peace protestors, etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't think so!. First of all because I believe there are no "good" people, and no "bad" people!. No one is pure good, or pure evil, and most people are just doing what they think is right!. There are of course people who do a lot of bad things (criminals, madmen, etc!.), but there is certainly a lot of good in this world!.

By the way, I do believe that evil has more publicity, because when something bad happens you almost immediately see it on the news, but good things are "boring", and they don't sell, so you will see and hear of more bad things than good things!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Interestingly , that prior to 1914 A!.D!. there was tremendous hope for a possible Utopia, as is stated in the expressions below, and continue to escalate, in so many ways today!

*** ce chap!. 18 p!. 227 The Bible—Is It Really Inspired by God!? ***

1914—The Turning Point in History

30 From the human standpoint, the world troubles and global wars foretold in the Bible were far from the thinking of the pre-1914 world!. --
--German statesman Konrad Adenauer said: “Thoughts and pictures come to my mind, !.?!.?!. thoughts from the years before 1914 when there was real peace, quiet and security on this earth—a time when we didn’t know fear!. !.?!.?!. Security and quiet have disappeared from the lives of men since 1914!.”
--25 People living before 1914 thought that the future “would get better and better,” reported British statesman Harold Macmillan!.
--26 The book 1913: America Between Two Worlds notes: “Secretary of State Bryan said [in 1913] that ‘conditions promising world peace were never more favorable than now!.’”

1914—A TURNING POINT IN HISTORY

Even after a second world war, many refer back to 1914 as the great turning point in modern history:

“It is indeed the year 1914 rather than that of Hiroshima which marks the turning point in our time!.”—René Albrecht-Carrié, The Scientific Monthly, July 1951!.

“Ever since 1914, everybody conscious of trends in the world has been deeply troubled by what has seemed like a fated and predetermined march toward ever greater disaster!. Many serious people have come to feel that nothing can be done to avert the plunge towards ruin!. They see the human race, like the hero of a Greek tragedy, driven on by angry gods and no longer the master of fate!.”—Bertrand Russell, The New York Times Magazine, September?27, 1953!.

“The modern era !.?!.?!. began in 1914, and no one knows when or how it will end!. !.?!.?!. It could end in mass annihilation!.”—The Seattle Times, January?1, 1959!.

“In the year 1914 the world, as it was known and accepted then, came to an end!.”—James Cameron, 1914, published in 1959!.

“The whole world really blew up about World War?I and we still don’t know why!. !.?!.?!. Utopia was in sight!. There was peace and prosperity!. Then everything blew up!. We’ve been in a state of suspended animation ever since!.”—Dr!.?Walker Percy, American Medical News, November?21, 1977!.

“In 1914 the world lost a coherence which it has not managed to recapture since!. !.?!.?!. This has been a time of extraordinary disorder and violence, both across national frontiers and within them!.”—The Economist, London, August?4, 1979!.

“Civilization entered on a cruel and perhaps terminal illness in 1914!.”—Frank Peters, St!.?Louis Post-Dispatch, January?27, 1980!.

“Everything would get better and better!. This was the world I was born in!. !.?!.?!. Suddenly, unexpectedly, one morning in 1914 the whole thing came to an end!.”—British statesman Harold Macmillan, The New York Times, November?23, 1980

Dominence of evil since 1914 seems to fit what the Bible foretold as to why! the invisible happenings as quoted in the texts below takes on greater meaning as we continue to advance in history!. Whether you are religious or not the commentaries quoted seem to apply greatly & due for some consideration!

(Revelation 12:10-12) !.?!.?!.“Now have come to pass the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ, because the accuser of our brothers has been hurled down, who accuses them day and night before our God! !.!.!.!.!.!.12?On this account be glad, YOU heavens and YOU who reside in them! Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to YOU, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time!.”Www@QuestionHome@Com

I am amoral!. I don't believe in good and evil people!. I believe we all do what we can to survive and nobody should be judged, based on what one society says is wrong or right!.

There is no such thing as wrong and right!. There is only what you can and cannot understand!.

The concepts of good and evil are there to control people!. If you are evil, the good people can lock you up or even kill you!.

An evil person is just someone who behaves differently to the good people!. Good and bad are decided democratically so therefore seem to be completely subjective and not divine!.

I have one rule in my life!. Try and keep my species alive and try and keep them happy!. If you don't believe in the same principle, I'd love to hear what yours are but I would never call you evil!. I'd say you were someone who lives an alternative life to mine!. You are no better or worse than me!. We are all equal and have the freedom to say what we like!

If you think there is more evil in the world than good, that just means that your club is smaller than the other clubs!. Don't be so arrogant by thinking everyone should join YOUR club!. It is that type of thinking that causes wars!

Of course, if you like war, then go for your life but my principle says I should protect life so I will pacifistically ask you to stop until you kill me!.

Just one extra thing!. Hitler is considered evil by the vast majority of the world!. But there are still some people who believe (justifiably) that he was doing good for Germany!. That is why the concepts of good and evil are somewhat ambiguous!. It's all a matter of majority rules opinion!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It depends on the perspective you adopt!. If you only focus on bad things, that's all you'll ever see!. People tend to get their perspectives molded by the media!. The media present many terrible situations such as accidents and natural catastrophes but they never show the good things that happen worldwide - and believe me,there are plenty of them!. if your perspective is being influenced by the media - as many people's are - then I get your point!. Personally,I think there are no good nor bad people!. There are just people who go through different experiences and react differently!. Two people may go through the same experience and one can get happy whereas the other gets sad!. Therefore, you can't label people like that!. There are plenty of people you would call bad who make good things and many you would label as good who do bad things!. As you see,it depends a lot on the circumstances!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i often find that people are easily influenced to change their feelings!. It's only their desire to contribute some good which causes them to constantly interrupt negative habit patterns,

people will only act for themselves and their own feelings!. because we simply can not carry the weight of the entire world for others!. We do the best we can to create empathy and cause more good, but, there is a VERY distinct difference between experiencing pleasure, and acting out of a moral abundance of people!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

instead of directly answering the question, i'm just going to say this!.!.!.

if you spend your time worrying about how there's more evil than good in the world, how can you get on with your life happily!?

think about it!.!.!.every time you try to make a new friend, or ask someone out!.!.!.just meet someone new!.!.!.if your brain is full of these thoughts, you'll worry about whether they're going to attack you or hurt you or rape you or something!.!.!.all these things you hear about on the news!.!.!.and watching that makes it seem a lot more common than it is!.!.!.

personally i believe it's a pretty even balance!.!.!.but i don't spend my time worrying about it!.!.!.otherwise it's just a waste of time and potential happiness!.
