Question: Can you think of one reason for our inexplicable destruction of this planet!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
There have been several good answers!. Greed, selfishness, thoughlessness!. Its is not so much the waste we produce it is the over consumption of natural resources which cannot be replaced!.

There is no waste in Nature, everything moves in circles!. If we were to model our lives on Nature - understand that we are part of Nature, not separate, we would live more lightly on the earth!.

There are still small groups of people, far from civilisation, which live in harmony with their surroundings and do not trash them, so it it not "in human nature" to do so!. it is that we have forgotten ancient wisdom in favour of an arrogant assumption that we know about everything and that we can shape everything to suit ourselves!.

We have become too clever for our own good - too clever to be wise!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I find these questions are highly selective!. We all contribute to the "destruction" of this planet simply by being alive!. It is arrogant to assume moral superiority over others!.

It is a fact of life that biological life produces waste!. Reducing the amount of waste and the dangers it poses is not a worthwhile effort and it completely overlooks the global impact by focusing on the individual impact!.

More than 6 billion of us produce bodily waste daily -- then there are all the others ways that staying alive contribute the manufacture of waste!.

Well,if you say it's inexplicable, you assume there is no reason!. We are destroying our planet because many people say that's what we're here to do!. I do believe that somehow we need to do that,no matter how much we try to spear the nature's resources because we need the nature to provide us with something to live on!. We will always destroy something,if not consciously, then in a way we won't notice - we kill animals without noticing it,like ants!. But I also think we could - and now more than ever people are aware of that - have a more balanced and sustained relationship with our planet Earth, since it's (so far) the only one we've got!. But people are doing it already: whereas some people only think of themselves, moved by their stupid pride and selfishness, others try to minimize the impact their lives have on nature,by recycling, planting trees, volunteering to help animals and so on!. So we can't focus only on the bad things!. There are good people in this world too!. And they sure fight to ensure Mother Nature lives on - along with us!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i think people get the government they deserve!. same with the planet!. we deserve what we have and where we are going to end up due to the ways our race (human) does things, the only way to get a better planet is by deserving it and the way you deserve it is by changing and a big change is what i mean, but maybe its too late!. the planet might have already told the rest of the universe that it is time for a new beggining and to send some meteors to destroy everything for the earth to save itself from us horrible human!.

The simplest reason perhaps is that we could!. If there is nothing is stop us from doing what we can then there is nothing that we cannot do!. Now, the actual question is if we should do all that we can do!? The answer to this questions would come varyingly from various sources: moralist would say we should not do anything that is immoral, or unethical, that we must stick the principles; but liberals on the other hand would not cease from explorations even it means death and destruction of life, of planet or of the world!.

This should ring true in your mind, as this is what human nature really is!. It has never been bridled onto the straight and narrow courses of morality, expediency and fear!. This is in our nature that we must see to the end of things just to know that there is an end!. This I believe is our way of searching for eternity, something that might never come to an end!. If planet is s fragile than this is our bad luck as sooner or later it will be destroyed, if not in the hands of Man than due to its own natural causes!.

Then this is frightfully annoying to think as what is this place that the planet earth is located, in the middle of nowhere!. We detest loneliness, darkness, cold and inexplicability of all things, and when that thing is right under our feet, or mainstay, our home, our house, and temporary abode, the one that we so helplessly depend on, dwell upon then should we not feel concerned beyond reason!. We have looked around in the past few decades, initially with hope and then in utter sense of dismay, but we have found nothing for trillions of miles, for tens of thousands of light years, not even single worm for life stirring!. Is this not frightening to realise that we are alone, and at the mercy of countless natural catastrophic events!?

There are reasons behind us seeking refuge in our expensive excursions and wasteful indulgences, in our mutual conflict and fights, we are I think deep down a frustrated race that has absolutely no clue as what is their purpose of being here in the such hostile and none friendly place where the planet earth is our only hope, but now that hope is not sufficient as we have seen how minute it is at a cosmic scale!. We feel unsafe, and we are terrified by the thoughts of our extinction!. Our material knowledge does not provide us any consolation; instead, it is making us feel even more inadequate in comparison!.

I wonder if human race would survive with such constricting realisation in the mind!. I think we will have to evolve mentally to grasp new sense of being and acquire new kind of knowledge, as without such evolution we will remains like prisoners in this planet earth of ours!.

Inexplicable you assume no reason!. Destruction such as running out of resources!. or like a white ball hitting a snooker ball!. A jolt to the Earth would destroy all life on land!. or meteorite & Earth smash together like conkers; & shatter!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

seems that EVOLUTION has programmed us to do so ; what else !?
