That is some faulty logic!. Atoms colliding do not transcend time, space, energy, or mass!. also, the big bang is not the origin of all that, only the origin of some things within some known bounds!. In fact big bang conditions are the focus of much research (think CERN)!. You cannot prove or disprove the existence of god using standard logic!. You can make an argument, for or against, up until the point of absurdity!. However, philosophical scholars have been doing this for some time and these arguments are not particularly compelling Www@QuestionHome@Com

The big bang was considered a possibility, but not proof!. Proof is the creation of the world!. The big bang was a chemical reaction that started the creation of the world, think of it as day 1 in Genesis, however the sun wasn't created till day 3, so if the sun were a result of the big bang then why would it be created on day 3 rather than 1 to the power -43 seconds between the big bang and the creation of the first star!. Who caused the big bang, of course the answer is an Intelligent designer, so the big bang is a result of Gods existence!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It depends on your personal definition of God and how strict of a requirement you put on it!.

But this is a good and valid point that, although different cultures have had different conceptualizations of what God is, the one thing that is commonly agreed upon is that it is some force outside of those things!.

Although, one could argue that light also transcends all those things as well!. Perhaps there is also validity when people refer to god as "limitless light"!.

It's their beginning, it's part of them!.

It was self caused, for something else to cause it they would need time!.

You're talking of the "First Cause" Argument, There is no proof either way as to how the big bang really began!. My personal beleif is one that's shared with some, where the big bang is repetitive!. There is proof to suggest the expansion of the universe is decellerating, suggesting something slowing it down or pulling it back, so eventually it may stop and maybe begin to shrink!.!. in which case could it be possible that it could shrink back to an infitesimally small volume only for the big bang to happen all over again!.!.

Define God!. Define Time, as it is relative!.

My point is that nobody knows, all we can do is theorise!. It's fun to theorise of course, as it is fun to attempt to prove or disprove the existence of God, but in the end, all we can do is accept that some believe and some don't!.

Faith is as impossible to prove, even if we all have faith in ourselves!. Faith cannot be proven by semantics or otherwise, only by acceptance!.Faith in yourself however, does not prove that God exists, it only proves that you have faith in yourself!.

Personally, I prefer to keep questioning rather than placing assumption higher than rationality!. After all, who is to say that the Big Bang did not happen at the finite point of time of the collapsing of another universe !? !.!. You cannot prove otherwise!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Partially to respond to other responders -- the Big Bang is a theory only in some loose sense!. All evidence (and there's a lot of it) seems to be entirely consistent with the occurance of a "Big Bang" event!. The people who fixate on the word "theory" here are probably the same people that think evolution is "just a theory"!. They are usually not academics active in the field, nor are they particularly conversant on what the "theories" actually explain or how they conform to the evidence!. So despite what a lot of the responders here might claim, the overwhelming likelihood, given all the evidence and even a minimal sense of rationality, is that there was indeed a "Big Bang" event, and there is no data that we have yet discovered to contradict such a conclusion!.

Secondly, what you are doing in posing your question is deifying the Big Bang!. If you want to CALL the Big Bang "God", then you're certainly welcome to it!. But it wouldn't be the bearded, benevolent, conscious entity that most people think of when they say, "God", and most of them would say you're misusing the term!. You can call a stone or a twig "God" if you like!. Nothing's stopping you!. But don't then think that all the properties commonly associated with a lay notion of "God" will accompany the twig, the stone, or the Big Bang!.

Lastly, the Big Bang only "transcends" time, space, energy, and mass insofar as the constituents involved in a Big-Bang event would be more fundamental than time, space, energy, and mass (x and y bosons, or strings, or whatever-you-like)!. That doesn't mean that it isn't fundamentally "of" the physical universe!.

Attributing extra-physical, supernatural properties to the Big Bang would be an extremely weird move -- though you're free to do it if you like!. People believe that Mary was a virgin (yeah right), even though she gave birth to Jesus -- and thereby attribute supernatural properties to him!. But deifying a scientific theory -- it sort of goes against the grain of science and religion both!.

Think about it like this: consider the state of the universe five minutes before the present moment (never mind complications arising from relativity -- that would be irrelevant to the point)!. Everything that exists in this moment and every moment in the future was "caused by" that moment five minutes ago!. Would it seem reasonable to regard "the state of the universe five minutes ago" as God!? Presumably not!.

Well, there's no better reason to consider the Big Bang God!. It is unclear what -- if anything -- existed prior to the Big Bang!. It is plausible to suppose that Big Bangs are a cyclical occurance!. So the universe collapses into some sort of singularity, which causes a Big Bang, which causes a new physical universe, which collapses into some sort of singularity, which causes another Big Bang, and so on!.!.!.

The point is that there is no reason to attribute to the Big Bang any properties that aren't purely material!. That is, if you are trying to use science to get to a religious conclusion -- you're not gonna get there!. There's nothing wrong with having a religious outlook!. I disagree with such views, personally, but you're certainly entitled to believe what you like!. But if you want to use a scientific method, apply it to some scientific domain like physics, to get to some sort of a religious answer -- it just ain't gonna happen!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Since the"big bang" is a theory ,not a fact, and all theories are "man made", I guess it would depend on what you think 'GOD' is!.
