I am very suspicious of the concept of IQ!. I think it's too convenient as a way of sorting people into different categories, classes and social roles!. If someone can sweep the streets without getting bored, isn't that a strength rather than a weakness!? Can it really be isolated from emotional and social factors!?

I suppose my answer to you is that IQ tests are unconsciously biased towards what is seen as a rationalistic approach rather than a religious one, attempting to measure people quantitatively rather than qualitatively!. I also can't help thinking that the likes of Ninian Smart, Hans Kung and C S Lewis wouldn't generally be considered to have a low IQ, and nor would most of the academics in Divinity and Theology departments and faculties of well-established universities!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

What do you mean by "religious people"!? And why did you write "atheists" with capital "a"!? Is this a new kind of religion!?
I could come with some websites to prove that believing in a form of an Ultimate Universal Energy (called "God", "Buddha", etc) shows a higher IQ than in the case of believing that we came from nothing and will become nothing, but I have to go and discover new laws in Physics!.

Well, one would think that a grown adult would be able to get by most of these smoke & mirror shows but it baffles me!? I know many people who are bright, articulate, just like you and me but they have that thing they carry around!. Simply can't agree that ALL religious people are more ignorant but maybe, somehow they are capable of blind faith!? Then again, don't really know any atheists per se, I don't do church, don't send money to missionaries!. Do wonder what the heck the Pope does with those red shoes!? But as far as any and all ORGANIZED religions go they can be the first to set up shop on the moon for all I care!.
