Goal is a target you want to hit because you are passionate about achieving it!. To define it you need to DISCOVER your passion!. Ask yourself only one question and seek only one answer: The question is "What do I want!?" You will be surprised to find that the answer does not come easy!. Try it!. That's your goal!. A goal is an end!. Ends are human goods, and can take many forms, e!.g!., health, wisdom, love, family, and so on!. You achieve an end through well defined means!. Means are the actual concrete steps required to reach your end!.

You might think of building a house as a metaphor!. The end is the house itself, the means are materials, labor, planning, etc!. required to construct it!.

The best way to achieve an end is to make sure that it is worth striving for in the first place, meaning you want a primary human good, such as the ones I mentioned at the beginning, which are desirable for their own sake, something that will motivate you enough to reach it!. While a secondary end might be money, or an education, things which will be required as means for achieving a primary end!.

Finally, remain realistic, and break down the means into concrete achievable units!. Stay committed and resolved to their attainment!.
