Why do people approve only of what they understand?

Question: Why do people approve only of what they understand!?

Most of the time anyway!. If one doesn't understand something or someone, I have noticed that they don't approve of it/them!. Why do you think that is!?
I think it is because deep down every person is judgmental!. It's not rainbows and smiles but that's the way I see it!. What about you!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

People fear what they don't understand!. That's why we have bigots and discrimination, stereotyping and narrow-mindedness!. These are all products of fear!. These people just don't know any better and they are afraid to learn!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because the mind will not allow it's grasp on reality to be crumbled!. This is the same area that faith derives!. The mind cannot grasp things that are beyond human comprehension!. It becomes a very selfish thing "this is my truth", you see everyone is holding on to their own understanding of reality!. But if we just let things be what they are and become the observer then we can see things as they are truly meant to be!.

Basically we have to be open minded and objective!. Whenever you declare "I know" you are accessing the mechanical part of the brain of memory etc!. But when you say "I don't know" then you are open to answers, and more receptive to things the universe has to show!.
And truth of the matter is we have a journey before we can achieve that state as a collective!. But as individuals there are those who are on that level!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Let's put it this way!.!.!. if I slid a complicated legal contract in front of you and you had no idea what it said, would you sign it!? I'd be surprised if many people would!. If you can't understand something, it's probably REASONABLE to not be involved with it, much less to approve of it!.

And then there's always evolution!. If there were a species that favoured another group more than it favoured its own group, the other group would eventually end up with most of the good stuff and that backward species would cease to exist!. Almost every creature has this rule bred into it at every level: what you do is good, what you do not do cannot possibly be as good!. It's one of the fundamantal rules of survival!. Suicide - even mental and social suicide - is bad!.

Fortunately, we as humans have a little more leeway!. We can learn to understand new ways outside of ourselves, change our behaviour in radical ways that nothing else can!. We can learn enough to try and understand; we can come to embrace new ways!. But we have to fight our instincts to do it!.

Yes, there you have it!. (Nature gave this to us so that we would survive threats by mobilizing our means of defense!. Traditional people are typically very suspicious of anything far from their village!. Is it any different for us!? Anything different is basically bad on this level!. Just look around Y!A!.) Of course education gives us a way to extend our boundaries through understanding beyond our personal experience, and travel broadens us making us more tolerant!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

maybe lack of caring, maybe they are very closed minded!. either way whatever quality they have that makes them not approve is a bad one!. not saying they are a bad person!.!.!.they just have flaws, as i do, as you do, as everyone does!. there are many reasons why someone wouldn't approve of something but a lot of the time it was the way they were brought up!. it seems when you are taught something at a very young age it's hard to get it out of your head so it is what you believe in strongly!. me, i am an opened minded person an i care about what every person has to say and i will take the time to try and understand it; i refuse to be judgmental!.

Because you can't approve of something that you don't know about!. How many of you would approve of your children going to join a secret club or society!? What if it turn out to be a gang or a terrorist group!? We just need to know what it's all about first!. That's all!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think your right!.!.!. Its only natural that people think this way,but taking time out to understand and get to know a person does help!. Sometimes People do tend to be judgmental but not all people are the same, I believe in letting someone who I think is honest, truthful, and down to Earth to be given a chance in anything!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
