Position:Home>Philosophy> Humanity's redeeming qualities?Question: Humanity's redeeming qualities!? i ask you, i need help comprising a list of things that either justify what humanity has done to this planet, its redeeming qualities, and something to help negate all the negative things we've done as such a violent, conforming race, i hate humanity and want some help or convincing that were not as bad as i think!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I wish there was something that could convince me that humanity isnt a complete and utter train wreck, but I dont think there is!. I've travelled the world and everywhere people are the same, ignorant and vain!. However, we each have our own unique story to tell, which is its own tale of joys, sorrows and tragedies!. When I think of my life, and think of how ive risen above my own set of challenges, I remember that everybody else goes through the same thing on a daily basis!.Www@QuestionHome@Com You should listen to Aristotle:- Man when perfected by law and justice is the best of all animals!. But when he is bereft of law and justice he is the worst of all animals, the most greedy, savage and unholy of all animals --- because he is endowed with reason which can be used for the best or the worst of all "ends" (purposes goals)!. So man's most characteristic quality --- which makes him different from all other animals is, in different individuals, his greatest virtue and his worst vice, depending upon what purposes he applies his reason!. So, now that you seem to be becoming overwhelmed by all the bad and irrational things our species has done, try to find some "heroes" for yourself who have done good things!. They are there, but they don't make "headlines" in the media!. Cheer up! You can employ your own peculiarly human powers and reason to do something good, rather than merely complain about all the "unholy and savage" things which other humans have done!.
