I think that a world without war and violence is not a hypothetical place limited to academic fancy or far-flung, niave conceptions of utopias, but a world-- the precise and only possible world-- we would have if we eliminated all of the things that cause war and violence!. Some people might argue that such a world is impossible, but I think that it is simply difficult to imagine because we haven't seen it yet!.
Since most wars are fought over scarce resources, a world without war and violence would be a world where we have developed technologies for energy, food, and other resource production, transmission, and storage to such a high degree that the stuff is as free as the air we breath!. Education and information resources would have to be equally plentiful and ubiquitous (via the internet) in order to eradicate the ignorance that plagues and disadvantages large portions of the world's population and to provide people with the power to make informed policy decisions and representative voting so that they might be and feel again empowered to work as an active force in shaping the destiny of their society rather than members of a socially disadvantaged class of citizens who are brow-beaten into accepting the will and short-term personal interests of an elite aristocracy!. The dis-advantaged only pick up arms when their voice is no longer heard!. These information resources would have to be non-centralized in order to prevent control and manipulation from larger forces and they would have to actively serve as whistle blowers on various kinds of disinformation that propagates itself in capitalist societies to the detriment of the greater good of that community!. The menial jobs will have to be relegated to autonomous agents so that people would be able to choose career paths not out of necessity but out of an internal motivation for self-actualization!. This would encourage everyone to actively engage themselves in their work, putting forth all of their most concerted effort!. I think also that the points system of our economy, the rules for generating revenue would have to be rewritten to reward those who perform valuable community services and discourage those who would simply strive for personal gain!. This retooling of the economy that I speak of would not be purely socialistic or capitalistic, but something new that takes advantage of the new anthropological, sociological, economic, non-linear dynamical systems, game-theoretical and psychological theories and data that we have gathered over the last two hundred years and combines it with the incredible new information technologies that have arisen over the years which have created entirely new social structures that often perform better than the aging beaurocracy structure that has served us so well for so long!. Of course, a society like this would come complete with its own unanticipated side effects and symptoms, and I'm sure violence would not be completely eliminated, but I think that the poor and disadvantaged of the Earth would be slow to adopt violent means to spread hateful messages if all of their baser needs were met, and they were not concerned with simply surviving but thriving in their own universe!. So in short, a world without war and violence, is a world we have the choice to create, a world we can only make by working together, a world with plenty of resources possible by the graces of technology where everyone's basic needs are met and we can all afford the luxury of pursuing our dreams!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

people tend to be motivated by greed and fear!. greed and fear motivate war!. without war there would need to be no greed and no fear!. without greed and fear the world would be very relaxed, everyone would have everything they want and everyone would be completely satisfied all the time - in other words the world would be a very dull place!. If everyone had everything they wanted and everyone were completely satisfied, then the things that people want would have to be available in unlimited supply; i!.e!. food, shelter, clothing, beauty, happiness, love, cinnamon buns, gold etc!.etc!. In a world where our wants are available in unlimited supply the result would be a complete absense of competition and without competition, there would be no evolution!. Without evolution life would not advance and adapt and ultimately no improvements would occur!. Without war mediocrity would reign!. Without war, the weak would survive!. War is necessary, inevitable and natural!. Enjoy it while it lasts!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
