Question: Everyone one has!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.…
some sort of motto that they live their life by!. Some make use of organized religions, others just "follow their heart"!. But what do you think about this 5 point motto a person told me they have:

Heart- Never lose your ability to empathize with the sufferings of others

Agnostism- Believe there MAY be a higher power, but humans will never know

Ambition- Always strive to be the fastest, strongest, smartest, etc in whatever situation you find yourself in in life

Narcism- Always view yourself with an ample, although sometimes overstated, level of admiration

Discipline- Emphasize self-control , order, and avoid emotional extremes in your daily life

Parts of that ideology conflict, but overall it seems fairly solidWww@QuestionHome@Com

Well to put it simply!.!.!.

Narcism and Discipline are in direct conflict with each other!.

Ambition is a YES or NO thing, for a straightforward person (either you are the best or you will be)!. That doesn't fit well with the agnostic MAYBE!.

And finally to be ambitious is to put yourself above and before others, so heart is royally f*cked!.

pat s points out the first thing that strikes me - the built in conflicts!.

There is a battle between Heart and Ambition!. And there is mutual support between Narcissism and Discipline!.

Narcissism supports Ambition, which strengthens Ambitions position against Heart!. Further, Discipline fights with Heart, with 'self-control' pushing against emotions, or empathy!. So Heart finds itself fighting against three points, and is alone!.

An agnostic approach to the divine is functional, if there is an effort to seek!. It doesn't sound as though this is the approach taken here!. Its mainly just shrug!.

If someone takes these 5 points, and applies them to their life, the suffering of others gets pushed out the window!. A disciplined and ambitious approach to self, makes this person a narcissist, and completely unchecked at that!. A selfish person, who has convinced them-self that they do care about others, because they prescribe to this 5 point motto!.

Yeah, I'd say may Americans DO apply these 5, with the same end result!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
