Definitely neutral and very true, but the problem is knowing what truly 'is'!. It applies to everything, it must be just about the ultimate truth!. It's up to us to realise what 'it' is, a task that is much more difficult than many believe it to be!. That statement reflects the miracle of 'is'!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I first wanted to go with the answer of this statement being neutral, but then on deeper thought, I have to say that it is what each individual makes it to be!.!.!.the choice is theirs alone!.

It can be optimistic if you are practicing acceptance, and allowing yourself to enjoy the scenery of a detour, and/or allowing yourself to be open to new, wondrous opportunities

It can be pessimistic, if there is no acceptance, but just a feeling of complacency and "victim-hood"

A scenario!?!.!.!."A woman marries a man she loves and that she believes loves her!. She gives some things up, for the sake of the relationship, and they settle down and have kids!. After some years, she starts noticing that things have changed and feels it's time to move on, but fear of whatever keeps her from doing so!.!.!.Now, she could use that same statement to rationalize and justify her staying or for leaving!. The choice is up to her and how she chooses to accept life!."

Don't want to be too long~winded, not that I haven't been already!.!.!.lol
So, I'll leave it at that, and hope that you understand what I mean!.

Peace!

The statement itself is neither - the response and our own philosophy of life make the statement optimistic or pessimistic!.

I know of people who would say - "Our economy is what it is, for as long as it is and we will suffer until it's not"

And I know people who would say "I'm in this situation to learn and grow so it is what it is for as long as it is and as long as it takes me to learn and make a better choice - then it's not!."

Depends on your view!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Interesting!. It depends who's saying it!. To some that might sound negative, especially if the one speaking tends to be negative on a regular basis!. I think that's a realistic statement!. Nothing in this world lasts forever--except God's love--so we need to appreciate the good that we have while we have it!. On the other hand--"this too shall pass"--thank God the bad times don't last forever! Sometimes they seem like it though!.

good things in life:
the bond between best friends
good relationship with family members
a healthy marriage
the ideal job
optimal weather conditions

bad things in life:
the wound of a lost love
emotional torment (It can take lots of work to heal!.)
a fight with a loved one
financial woes
general unfavorable circumstancesWww@QuestionHome@Com

both if seems hopeless so pessimistic in that you can't change it so accept it!.
Yet, when you can't change something it is optimistic cause it is saying this to shall pass but meanwhile it just is!.
An elderly parent who comes to live with a family cause they can no longer care for themselves!. Of course we all want to be independent & free from responsibilty but this would be a time of sacrifice & at times the freedom would only come from the person death!. So the family doesn't want to think about that!. So it just is what it !.!.!.!.!.!.etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It seems to me that this is a fatalistic attitude or else said by someone who doesn't care or who gave up on the issue or wants to remain middle of the road!. I believe in miracles and God's will, so I know that change is possible and usually preferable!. If we pray things can happen!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's realistic!. If it's anything else, it is what you choose to make it!.

You'll have to derive the rest of the answers from your own personal philosophy, which is what the exercise is actually about, self-realization!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's neither!. It's realistic!.
It means that you are not hoping for anything, not fearing anything, you can accept the situation without judging it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Though the statement might be true, it's basically a lazy outlook!.!.!.!.!.'til of course it's not!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is neither optimistic nor pessimistic!.

It is realistic!.

Be well!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's neither; it's neutral!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
