Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: These people are all wrong!. Nihilism is commonly misunderstood or confused with existentialism!. Nihilism is basically the belief that everything in existence has no objective meaning, value, or virtue!. Morals, values, virtues, meaning etc are all human made phenomena!. Nihilism doesn't argue that these things don't exist, it simply believes they are all subjective!. Nihilism is viewed as a dark and hopeless philosophy!. Where existentialism is viewed as "life is what you make it"!. Nihilism is probably the one true philosophy, but isn't excepted because of the negativity!. Www@QuestionHome@Com Nihilism is like someone that say "everything is meaningless" and forget that statement is applied on his statement also!. If that statement is meaningful then everything is not meaningless!. That's makes nihilism is self-destruct!. "Everything is meaningless, except the statement itself" is also failed in the test of truth!. One point we must remember about truth: there must NOT be contradiction in a statement, else that statement is not true!. The first statement is in the contrary of the second statement!.Www@QuestionHome@Com i am currently in a latin s=course so i knwo that nihil means nothing!. here are my thoughts on thesubject: nihilism is when nothing as any meaning!. nothing at all!. life, family, school, ect!. BUT you have a chance to do something with it!. you can create your own meaning!. your own life!. you might experience happiness or sadness or anger or benevolence!. a way to not experience all would be to expereince nihilism!. a more extreme version of this is exestentialism!. or howver it is spelled!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Nietzsche wasn't a nihilist!. He had his own set of values which he expounded!. Superman, Master Morality, etc!.!.!. A nihilist doesn't believe in any values, not even the ones created by himself!. You have to differentiate between a philosophical nihilist and a political one!. A philosophical nihilist isn't usually very coherent and consistent, because lack of values will lead him to contradict himself sooner or later!. Political nihilists, on the other hand, are basically anarchists!. They do have values, it's just they reject our political ones, such a government, democracy, liberalism, capitalism, religion etc!.!.!. They are more interested in the job of demolishing old structures rather than constructing anything new!. Many people would accuse them of being irresponsible, but they reply that destroying something is actually a very hard work, and if that something is corrupt and evil in the first place, we're better off without it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com to me nihilism is that nothing has meaning or purpose!.
