Question: Struggling with nihilism!?
I suppose it's not exactly nihilism, because it's not exactly a belief I hold, but that word seems to have the tone I mean!.

Lately, I've just been struggling with the fact that everything is meaningless!. It all leads to death, anyway!. Death doesn't bother me, either!. Gore does, but the idea of death seems very peaceful to me; I'd be upset if I never died!. I don't *want* to die, (otherwise I'd kill myself; suicide seems no big deal, either) I just hope that when my death comes, I'll be satisfied with my life and consider it whole!. That's it!.

As a result of all this, I've become totally unambitious; skipping more school than usual, shrugging off most all problems, and I've started experimenting with drugs (only weed, so far!. I've done my research and know everything about a drug before trying it, and it's not as an escape, it's as entertainment!.) Even when it's raining or freezing, I just shrug it off and don't let it bother me; not like it matters!. Nothing does!.

I have never been religious, and right now, I'm anti-religion, so that can't be the problem, by the way!.

Anybody have any words of advice!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Read Sartre or Camus, or other existential philosophers/writers!. They have a very interesting twist on the idea of godless existence!. Basically, they tell us that humans are free to create their own meaning out of nothing!. Such meaning isn't imposed on us from outside (God etc!.!.), but comes from within, so some people have a tendency of shying away from it!. Freedom, Sartre says, is a scary thing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Nothing really matters, you're right!. Except that, at your end, you are "satisfied with [your] life and consider it whole!."

So how are you going to find out what makes you satisfied and how will you get to a point where you consider yourself whole!?

Even though life seems meaningless, at times we have to play a role and go through the motions to get to where we really want to be!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If I were you, I would improve my reading and computer skills!. Even though you look at life at having no meaning, you're going to feel the commonality of discomfort as an adult-it's just the way it is!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

you should at least strive to make urself happy!. there is no "point to life", just live ur life and be happy with what you have, because after you die, thats it, game over!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sounds like you've already smoked to much dope!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Go have fun and try not to think about it!. Like, really try!.

First you say that when your death comes you hope that you'll have had a whole, satisfying life!. Then, you tell about your nihilistic feelings and lack of ambition!. Don't these two seem completely at odds to you!?

While it's a pretty sure bet that you'll be worm food a century from now, that doesn't mean that you can't enjoy your life while you're living!. The believer says that your life's purpose comes from god, while the nihilist says there is no purpose to life!. They're both wrong!. YOU create your life's purpose!. YOU give your life meaning!. You have the free will to give your life whatever purpose and meaning you choose!. You can dedicate your life to being a mother or an artist or an aid-worker or an entrepreneur, or some combination, or something else entirely!. Your life is yours to do with as you please!.

My advice to you is to live a life such that when you're finally on your deathbed, you won't look back at your life and think, "what a waste!."

Understand existentialism and humanist thought!.

In a nihilistic universe that doesn't give a damn if we are smart, dumb, happy, sad, a peacemaker, or the Resurrected form of hitler himself, we MUST create our own value and meaning to life!.

As soon as you have what you want to do by the end of your life written down in stone, everything can flow to that goal!. There are no breaks in this godless earth, so if you really want to achieve the goal, you have to work for it!.!.!. endlessly!. The last minutes of your life will be nothing but happiness!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I know that my actions may have no meaning at all ever!. But I've created meaning behind my actions in that I do things because it may benefit me or someone I care about, so my actions are never devoid of meaning!.

I suppose that what I believe is absurdism!? The source I refer you to can tell you a bit more about the subject!.

I enjoy living, but I look forward to death, too!. In a way, I know I will somehow become part of everything again through the natural, biological way of life!.

I would consider myself agnostic!. I don't know if there's a higher being, but there's no need to rule out the possibility!. Just because there is no evidence for a higher being now, doesn't mean that there never will be!. And I loathe any type of organized religion!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

(otherwise I'd kill myself; suicide seems no big deal, either) - suicide is big deal~! If you kill yourself, it means you disagree with your Creator!. It's not your decision to be created!. What would you answer if God asketh you "Why do you oppose My decision to create you!?"

For you, everything is meaningless; because you set yourself the measure of being meaningful!. Hey, you are meaningful to those who love you, especially God, Who has created you!.

Remember, It's not your decision to be created, so you can't decide how meaningful your life is!. Maybe you should read more "guideline" to live this life meaningfully!. I highly recommend Holy Bible!.

I have been there too!. Luckily i have escaped those desert with His guidance!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
