Your question is pretty vicious as it assumes God's existence; something which is ultimately unprovable!.

From a Theistic perspective, though, the answer to your question is yes!. Nothing existed before God and so it would have been His thought turned to action which spawned the Universe!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I personally don't believe in God, and so therefore don't believe that the world was created by him, or controlled by him (ever, or at any point in the future)!. I find it very hard to place my faith with something that sees so:
Uncaring
OR
Ignorant
OR
Powerless

To me, the whole idea of God really doesn't make sense!. If we can't fix our own fractured society, why on earth does anyone feel they have the right to expect some unproven 'entity' to do it for us!?

In my opinion, the earth was created like the scientists say!. However, anything further than that is up to personal opinion!. I understand this answer won't be picked for best answer because I'm opposing you, but I hope I helped!. I just wanted to explain what I thought!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I believe God created the universe!. And that he created the Earth especially to support humanity!. Think about it!. There was all kinds of animals and life before Man appeared on this earth!.

Scientifically there are 14 constants in the universe!. If just one of them was decimal points off, our earth would not be able to support life!. Gravity being one of them!.

Not only as nations but as individuals, there is a whole lot we need to figure out!. As an individual I am trying!. My faith gives me some clues!. My faith also says that one day we will know the truth and the truth will set us free!.
