The most objective of the questions is the last one: what are the benefits of gaining knowledge!. In my view the ultimate benefit of gaining any knowledge is self-awareness, a better understanding of yourself and your mind!. We use knowledge to establish meaningful relation both within and without, and between these two worlds!.

The ultimate goal of learning from other people’s experiences and learning directly from our own therefore is become a better person in the process, to be able to live happily, peacefully, progressively and purposefully!.

And as far the rest of the questions of your question are concerned some of them I think are subjective to your own person, i!.e!. the type of person your are!. Let us consider for instance the matter of finding friends!. I do not think that there is any particular subject area in knowledge where the probability of finding new friends can be increased regardless!. This is possible however for you to be in a place that is most suitable for fun, light conversations, and group interactions!. The study of arts, especially drama, among many more might be a good choice!.

I have been a keen child in my life!. Right from the beginning I had fascination for a wide range of simple things of nature that later on I found to be the subject matters of many a serious studies!. I too have a smattering of most subjects that you mention in your details, but I things towards the end of a child hood there are only two possibilities, either we lose our child-like fascination of knowledge and become all too specific in our interests, as for the purpose of a profession, or, we find something in our life that keeps us alive, some passion, pursuits of occupation to suit not only our needs but also our dreams!.

I stand in front of a bookshelf in the library anywhere, and find that there is in the sort that would not interest me, a title that would not intrigue me, or a book that I would not like to pull out, read, know what is it about!. This especially is true in case of the books on religion, philosophy, history, science, psychology, literature, world affairs, education, astronomy, palmistry, crafts you name it, I feel the pull of knowledge on my mind, I sense the fascination!.

I feel as if the diversity of my powerful interests would pull my mind apart and send it to different directions to converge somewhere once again, in a dream, or in some reality of realities known to man!. Then I understand that if have not been constantly in the process of developing my own philosophy right from the time of my childhood, I would might have got myself pretty mixed up by now!.

Finally, there are two types of knowledge: Living knowledge that enhances life, making the possessor alive; and the knowledge of details, information, that we use in life as we use fruits and vegetables cut off their pods, stems, roots and branches!. Knowledge is for life and I believe all successful people come up with their own philosophy that they eventually come to be become!.

Okay, lets be serious!.

Everyone knows a little bit of each things!. I am the same!. Jack of all trades, master of none!. lolz!.

But anyways, I have done my bachelor of business administration, and my concentration was marketing and international business!. So yup !.!. I am currently putting more focus on these 2 fields!. I am venturing in the business world, so yeah !.!. in order to succeed I must have an up-to-date knowledge about my surroundings, country's politics, world economy etc!. Cause all these things are related to business somehow!. also you gotta understand other people's culture, understand their psychology if you are involved in any sort of international business like I do!.

My coursework has pretty much covered all these subjects, and I also read some books, attended few seminars/workshops etc!.

My friends are pretty much from the same area as me!.

Benefits of gaining knowledge!? !.!. lolz you will find that out eventually!.

Acquiring knowledge widens your horizon!. You can use your knowledge as a tool in order for you to make prudent decisions in life!. Knowledge and experience actually!. University/bookish education doesn't equate to prudence (though it helps a lot)!. So university education and personal experience go hand in hand to achieve the best effect, in decision making and acting upon situations we encounter in our lives!. :)

From experience you learn something-- you gain knowledge!. It's good to know a lot of things, from all fields!. But one person couldn't be a "master" of everything!. Each has his own strenghts and weaknesses!.

Example:

I maybe good in Health Sciences - because this is my field, but not that good in Mechanical Engineering subjects!. - because my exposure to this body of knowledge is limited!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Knowledge is important, but what one really should strive for is wisdom!. The knowledge of comfort!. Personally life is all about wisdom and love, oh and truth, but truth is kinda like wisdom!. Wisdom is the knowledge of being, it is that accepting of all truth and the freedom of fear!. Other than that, i believe that the knowledge you should acquire in life is the knowledge that you are hungry for!. The knowledge that fulfills your desires!. If you like astrology, read about astrology, if you like cooking, brush up on your culinary arts!.

I guess you sound like everyman!. Somehow we all manage to acquire quite deep knowledge of things that seemingly have no purpose in our lives!.
I buy and devour magazines such as New Scientist every month although oft times I don't understand the meaning of an article!.
One of my students told me that he loved me because I always had an answer for his questions about other subjects; which stems I guess from the fact that I am always reading!.
Knowledge of any kind is food for the brain!. I imagine that if I lived in a rain forest I would have a working knowledge of the plants and animals I interacted with!.

Ok then!. Knowledge is as important as the air we breathe!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I am wondering about the Universe, the night sky, and us!. Anything that fulfills my curiosity! It's really hard though, science is so complex lol!. But it's fun!.

Then I realize that I am very thankful for Art & Humanities and Religion & Spirituality, without them we'd be like machines - we wouldn't be human, just robots programmed to think the same!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
