I believe in the power of coincidence, and the way that random chance - luck, if you want - has the ability to take us down whichever path we want!. Yes!. In the films, the hero and heroine are always in exactly the right place at exactly the right time!. How often does that happen in real life!? For every one time it does, a million billion times it doesn't!. We control our lives - our thoughts, behaviour and words!. The one thing I think we lack control over is our feelings - but I don't view this lack of control as being a bad thing!. Not at all!. For me, the only miracle of our lives is humanity, and what we are capable of!. We don't know the limits yet!.Www@QuestionHome@Com No I don't believe in fate!. People change their minds all the time!. The things we do every day change our future!. Maybe we plan to do something but we don't end up doing it!. Because again, people change their minds all the time!. To me, it seems unrealistic that a certain aspiration was set for you when you were born, and you must follow that aspiration throughout your life!. People create their futures!. Futures aren't created for them!. Love at first site is also ridiculous to me!. It was your fate to be born to the parents you had with their own genetic signatures!. This is what Fate (Life) hands you!. You can definitely make a mess out of your life, but this isn't Destiny!. Take Florence Nightingale for instance - this pioneer of modern nursing had a gift and made a mission out of it!. The mission changed history - that's destiny!. I believe that my life is fated to end at a certain place and time (I've seen my death)!. This frees me from a lot of anxiety about dying from horrible diseases etc!. It also serves to make me more courageous in facing phsical danger!. So for me, a fatalistic attitude towards Death is useful!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Fate is just a word that english folks use to justify not being able to say "they are in control"!.!.!.!.what is so bad about sitting back and letting things happen!? In America I think we have some kind of irreverence to having no ability to say what happens to us,!.!.Look at the vote for example,!.!.!.!.we use that every four years to control who leads us (or so we think) The idea that Life is not ours to live is somehow an evil thing to think!. What is so wrong about letting God play out his wishes for us and just letting our role fulfill his desires!?!.!.!.!.!.it's not like we're gonna die pennieless or not or that we'll always be happy or not,!.!.!.!.everybody experiences pain and suffering to some degree or wealth and riches to another,!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.why does this have to be an issue!?!.!.!.!.!.I love to loomat the Movie "Slingblade" and watch as the role that Billy Bob Thornton play be a single, simple, act of ignorance and yet it also be such a great and sacrificial demonstration of how God might use a person to play a role!.!.!.!.!.!.!.what a great example for modern America to see,!.!.!.!.!.If you look back in time, you'll see Jesus Christ do basically the same thing only he wasn't retarded!.!.!.!.!.does that do anything for you!?
