Religion isn't a barrier in itself, the problems associated with it come from these other, more fundamental, anti-virtues or [gasp!] sins!.

Many people don't seem to agree, but the main cause of conflict/suffering/evil is pride!. Interestingly, it is the main problem with religion!. If you think highly of yourself or your beliefs/opinions, then you are just setting yourself up for conflict and discrimination!.

If I had to pick from your list I would say greed, as it is the most closely related to pride!. Only looking after yourself is a big barrier!.

The other things you listed are interesting!. Incuriosity and apathy are big problems, as they limit our understanding of one another and ourselves, which in turn limits empathy and compassion!. Laziness is related to apathy, to incuriosity!. Holding on to tradition could also be related to incuriousity: not question what is and if it could be better!.

All these things can relate back to pride in that people are sure of themselves and don't question themselves or look for the truth!.

Sex drive is not bad in itself, but it's exploitation is generally a result of the proud thought that we can do whatever we want to please ourselves!. Proud!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'd go for greed because that would also fit for all hungers for power and structure and I dont doubt that religion would be more like its self promotional blurbs if there were less greed for money status and power!.

also laziness maybe comes from knowing that you'll never be able to compete getting rid of greed could lead to everyone being appreciated!.

Sex drive wouldn't be a huge problem if no one were greedy -

I think incuriosity whilst not healthy for the individual doesn't have much impact on society as those with curiousity make up for it !.

Tradition is a sticky one but on the whole unhealthy traditions so far are dealt with saisfactorily by our laws!.

Religion by itself is not outwardly malevolent!. But combine that with greed and tradition you have two nations fighting over a holy spot!.!.!.!. Yeah FIGHTING over a holy spot!.!.!. What the hell is that!?

Laziness can lead to a lack of curiosity, which can lead to ignorance, which can lead to more conflict over things like tradition!.

Sex drives can be both good and bad!.!.!. Take love, if you love someone and have a healthy respect for them, then its alright to take a rump in the sack every now and then!. But things like rape are just ****** up!.

Out of all of these, the only one that is inherently evil is greed!. The word itself implies that one is willing to do some bad things to achieve it's means!.

In my opinion, the most unhealthy is indifference, a combination of laziness and incuriosity!. Religion, sex drive, and traditions all have good points (Bad points too, but there is some good)!. Greed obviously isn't a good thing, but it can have good side effects!. Indifference, however, means that society as a whole stagnates!. There is no forward progress, there are no new discoveries, and no one cares about who they vote for, so we get corrupt and/or stupid public officials!.
On the other hand, I do not believe that any can be called truly the worst, because it is mostly a matter of opinion!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
