I don't believe that human nature dictates that we are predetermined to love someone or something!. I feel that it is purely a "by-product", an act of socialisation within which people can fulfil their predetermined requirement to reproduce!. I believe that the human race is selfish and mechanistic with no sure sign of altruism!. Why does a baby "love" it's mother!? Is it because of some unbreakable unexplainable bond or is it purely because it's mother provides warmth, food and comfort!?
The idea of love also differs from person to person!. Love is formulated and enforced (in the westernised world) by television, the views of our immediacies and so on!.
I feel we aren't in peace for an innumerable amount of reasons!. The world as a collective isn't focused on the same goal!. Even two people rarely want to achieve the same result, and even if they do the chances are they both believe they can achieve it in different ways!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

The good side of human nature dictates that we love each other!. It makes sense to avoid conflict and violence that can harm us personally, and because we can relate to others we don't want it happening to them either!. There is also a bad side of human nature that just wants to look after ourselves!. Our primal instincts dictate that we eat, reproduce, and fight for survival in general!. The two sides are conflicting!. The reason we aren't sharing this world equally and peacefully is because it is hard enough for one person to control his animal instincts, let alone 6,700,000,000 odd of them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because we have incompatible desires and interests -- incompatible goods!. Although love and the efforts it inspires may someday overcome these incompatibilities and bring about peaceful resolution, that is a process that is unfolding in time!.

It is the process known as history!.

And it will take a lot more time to achieve the result you mention!.

"Abstract rules indeed can help, but they help the less in proportion as our intuitions are more piercing; and our vocation is the stronger for the moral life!. For every real dilemma is in literal strictness a unique situation; and the exact combination of ideals realized and ideals disappointed which each decision creates is always a universe without precedent, and for which no adequate previous rule exists!." Human nature is not social at all it is subject to mans needs!. In the mind's eye conjure up a picture of one of your primitive ancestors of cave-dwelling times--a short, misshapen, filthy, snarling hulk of a man standing, legs spread, club upraised, breathing hate and animosity as he looks fiercely just ahead!. Such a picture hardly depicts the divine dignity of man!. But allow us to enlarge the picture!. In front of this animated human crouches a saber-toothed tiger!. Behind him, a woman and two children!. Immediately you recognize that such a picture stands for the beginnings of much that is fine and noble in the human race, but the man is the same in both pictures!. Only in the second sketch you are favored with a widened horizon!. You therein discern the motivation of this evolving mortal!. His attitude becomes praiseworthy because you understand him!. If you could only fathom the motives of your associates, how much better you would understand them!. If you could only know your fellows, you would eventually fall in love with them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think that the rub in your question lies in - "we all"!.

Most of us are or would and are not recognised -

I lived in a commune and worked in worker co-ops for years - you have to work hard at love it isn't something that you just decide the once - it takes some commitment - It only takes one dictator in the mix just one person who wants to have extra status and power and the 'not love' - the fear gets a grip and grows!.And somehow their effect is always more 'seen and noted than all of those still working equably!.

Love is always there - unfortunately many other elements of human nature are also there at the same time and it is an internal fight to achieve balance and integration of all our human traits!.

Some of the tribes Margaret Mead visited as an anthropologist were doing really well - with fewer temptations!.

if you look at the history of mankind as opposed to other animals we are still in our infancy!. It is only 100 years since we sent children of 4 and 5 up chimneys and down mines so given our backwardness - we are learning slowly!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Dear Friend,

Because of sin!. Sin is rebellion against God's standard of life!. We are all born with this sin!. Sin doesn't mean we did something wrong, it means that we are born with a disease called, sin!. Adam and Eve wanted more!. They were deceived and learned Good and Evil from the fruit they ate!. That is why there is good and evil in the world!. That is why there is wars and those wanting control, and power, etc!.

Jesus was the perfect blood sacrifice, by accepting Him as Lord of our life, He cleanses us from this sin!. He gives us the Holy Spirit to convict us of anything we may do that displeases God so that we can ask forgiveness and then repent, to go in the right direction!.

There will be NO peace on this earth my friend, until Jesus comes back as Warrior and destroys all evil, and then purifies this earth by burning it and then restoring it!. Then those whose names are written in the Lamb's Book of LIfe, will manage the NEW earth with Jesus ruling from the New Jerusalem!.

We all have seeds of self-interest that give birth to our instinctual behaviour, that much like animal we single-mindedly use when we fight for food, shelter and sex, for instance!. This however is just as far as we come in our resemblance with animals, as aside our general, instinctual, or animalistic nature we have human nature too that makes us distinctively human!. The human nature is an erstwhile dormant capacity innate to our being that remains undiscovered until the time we develop consciousness, and become aware of our individual self alongside the presence of other people around us!.

However, unlike general nature that we share with our animal cousins, human nature, as it seems, is not controlled from below, by earthly needs and desires, but from above, from the top of a hierarchy of needs - our need for esteem, for social approbation, for popularity, riches and fame, and finally our need for self-actualisation - the ultimate of which is the ideals of an ever-aspiring mind, seeking constant improvement through living!.

The human emotional capacity, and therefore the ability of love, is what we may call transcends and governs the rest of our needs, including our sexual urges!. Love belongs to the higher parts of our mind that is responsible for us to creatures specifically endowed with a nature of their own!. However we might have a humble beginning in life, we normally grow up to become aspiring for goodness, justice, beauty and care in all our relations with fellow human beings!.

In simple words this most simply is the matter of the evolution of mind that we are human beings, and not animal, that we have capacity to excel the demands of animalistic nature to a level that can only be described as human level, to be better than animals!. We love each other just because we need love, and we need to love!.

There are two ways that love the difference from the rest of our needs, as love is such wholesome a realisation or association with our self that it can gives meanings to all the rest of the things in our life!. For instance when in love we see our natural urges falling in line for the objective of our loving, our social behaviour undergo significant changes, and as one would say, when in love we find ourselves closer to God, to humanity, or to our spiritual ideals!.

The second thing is that unlike the rest of our needs love is not entirely earth-bound, or rooted in the soil that we are made of, but in the high ideals of our mind!. True love that is and not merely sexual gratification makes us do good things in life, care for the one love, and sacrifice for the ideals we uphold!. There is intrigue in the idea, as it seems that however we are born out of the soils of the earth there is something in our mind that is quite heavenly, or heaven-seeking in human nature, something godlike, that keep us constantly afoot, searching and longing for an ever so better life!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because hate, violence and "us vs!. them" thinking is also a part of human nature!.

Me, I'm holding out for the day when rational thinking comes as naturally to people as dogmas, beliefs and emotions!. Hope it's not too many decades or centuries!.
