i have 2 philosophy questions!.

2-Should the American President’s beliefs on the question of god’s existence matter to the rest of us!? Www@QuestionHome@Com

Question 1: I wouldn't necessarily say we have a moral obligation to carefully consider an issue!. I think we have personal responsibility to ourselves not to blindly adopt a belief without fully investigating it!. However, there may be a small moral side to it: If we adopt a belief that may harm others, then perhaps we have a moral duty to have considered more deeply that belief before we adopted it and applied to interactions with others!.

Question 2: Absolutely, not!. I don't think the president's religious beliefs should matter to us!. Those beliefs actually only represent his or her character!. Some people find religious people of higher character so it's not necessarily his or her specific beliefs that matter but the fact that he or she does believe!. However, for me, I am non-religious and it matters not to me whether the president is!. I care about his or her ideas, abilities to lead the nation and characteristics that make him or her a worthy leader!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Question 1 - no, there is no moral obligation to consider issues carefully, especially when it comes to matters of faith because consideration and rational run counter to the idea of faith

Question 2 - No, who cares whether the President believes or disbelieves, we should only care if he is going to push specific tenants of his faith on the rest of us!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

1!. No!. There are too many issues in this world!. One wouldn't have the emotional or physical means of "careful consideration" for every issue out there!. It wouldn't be practical!. So we pick and choose which issues warrant "careful" consideration!. In your example question about God's existence, I give little consideration as to whether Zeus or Odin exists, so why should the Judeo-Christian version warrant more or less than them!? So even this hefty subject bears consideration as to whether "careful" consideration is morally required!.

2!. Since the American President is not a religious leader, his opinion on God (any God) is irrelevant!. His opinion of humanity is relevant!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't know if it is a moral obligation or not, but pretty darn stupid if you don't consider it carefully!. And as far as whether or not it should matter to us if the President believes in God or not, speaking ONLY for myself, that because this nation was founded on religious freedom, I think it is important to know if he supports that or not!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

1- to some, I'd say

2- no, but if one was to force others to believe the same, one should be done away with(I think you might know exactly what those words mean)Www@QuestionHome@Com
