Question: How to buy Arabic books!?
I am in the Army and in Iraq!. An Iraqi friend of mine picks up trash on base for a living and has a political science degree!. Due to extreme censorship in the middle east he has never heard of common but controversial ideas such as "atheism!."

I'd like to buy him something on or by Epicurus, David Hume, Bertrand Russel or Ludwig Wittenstein but I am unable to find any of these books in Arabic!.

It is thanks to the Arabians that much of western Philosophy was saved From the Church burning books such as Plato's Republic, or Lucretius Poems!. I feel I have a debt to the Arabs to give them modern and old philosophy that their "church" is now burning that we are safeguarding for the world!.

Where can I find such books!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

You would be putting his family in great danger!.

I will nevertheless ask my father, now back in school for a degree in the philosophical and scientific works of the medieval Arab world, to tell me where he gets his copious tomes on Aristotle & Co!. in Arabic!.

The works you refer to exist in modern translations!. God help the person wandering around the modern Arab world with such stuff in his possession!.
