Position:Home>Philosophy> Why do people get joy out of watching people die on T.V?Question: Why do people get joy out of watching people die on T!.V!? don't get me wrong, im always watching action movies and playing video games like halo and call of duty, but i cant get the feeling that what i am doing is wrong!.
people get joy out of killing people, which i don't understand!.i know their not real , but still!. can someone clue me in on this!?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: We've all watched an action movie once in our life!. Most people can say they've watched a movie or played a game in which the bad guy gets killed in the end, and they get a rush of satisfaction out of it!. I've never played video games before, and I don't know the object of halo 3 or anything, so maybe my answer's not relevant!. Www@QuestionHome@Com I think there may be a few reasons!. First, the human heart is dark and it enjoys darkness or rather, it enjoys pleasure!. Watching someone die gives us a sense of power over that person, this is especially the case in video games!. also I think, we get a sense of rebellion out of this as well!. Subconsciously we know that there is something dark about watching death, yet we are fascinated and sometimes attracted to it!. In another sense, we also fear death, and seeing in portrayed in such a nonchalant way serves as a coping mechanism!. This is dangerous, and it has lead to the downfall of civilizations (Rome)!. Personally I think it can all be summed up that the human heart is tainted and this is why our conscience can be quieted after a while!. This is dangerous without explanation!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Good question!. Many people have been "desensitized" to the actual violence of killing and dying!. Others actually enjoy it!. Games like the ones you play are supposedly "exciting"!. But the excitement is actually a smokescreen!. Evil will do anything, be anything, attempt anything to seduce people to his side!. He uses temptation, seduction, and especially the media, as his vocation of catching people in his trap!. The one good thing about this is, we are not "trapped" forever!. Its the society weve grown up in!. i do know is that movies like that are desensitizing(pardon my spelling) us to murder,death ect!.!. except in the case that it effects us personally Sadly in some movies where a person dies I wont bat an eye but if its say a dog for example ill tear!.!.that makes me feel bad sorry about my rant!.
