Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Happiness is an arbitrary term that makes us unhappy because we are constantly striving for it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com People are happy when they are content with what they have!. They are not hoping for more, the failure of which results into unhappiness!. Even if what they have is considered inadequate by many, the fact that they are okay with it, makes them feel happy!. My parents were born in a part of the world where people live on the basic necessities!. I have visited there and can honestly say that people are happier there than they are in our societies!. Because they don't expect much, and are often--not always--content with what they have!. Partly for religious reasons--they believe in fate--and partly because they know nothing else, making them unaware of the prospects!. Doesn't matter!. Ok, my idea of happiness is to not only be able to tolerate the daily, mundane things in life, but enjoy and relish them!.
