!.
ANY emotion CAN be an "enemy" (toxic) to the soul!.

When any less welcomed emotion is experienced, it's best to acknowledge and address it!. "Embrace" that emotion, allow to feel!. When you "embrace" an emotion instead of "fighting" it or pushing it out, you are then accepting all that is natural !. !. !. Yin, Yang!.

Embrace and acknowledge the emotion!. Pay attention to what can be learned from that experience / emotion!. Weave that into you as "fertilizer" to soil!. Then lovingly RELEASE (rather than push out) the less welcomed emotion!.

" Fertilizer" found around you !? Rather than simply tossing it out, instead see it as a "gift" of growth and stir it into the soil (the soul)!. Thus something has been learned from the "confusion" and it was transitioned into growth!.!.!."Gift" of lessons" presented on ones path!.

Confusion is form of un-clarity!. Desire more clarity !? Then, quiet onself, slow down so the "silt" can settle and thus "problem" of confusion is seen more clearly, When more clear, you can then see what would be most productive direction to take!.

Confusion, "fear", doubt are a "yellow caution" light of sorts!. Yellow caution lights are simply signs to slow down, pay attention!.

Honor all signs, emotions and clarity, at the very least growth, will follow!.

Challanges are success if we learn and grow from it!.

Hi Rita - I like this question; good thought-provoking exercise!.!.!.

I think of my soul as being the sum total of my parts: heart, brain, life-force, and mind with all collective thoughts, memories, emotions, everything!. Whether or not someone is able to resolve confusion, I believe, is the next step beyond your question of whether confusion itself is an enemy of the soul!. I think the existence or creation of confusion "could" be a negative force!. However, what's the first thing a person does when something confuses them!? They try to understand it; sort out the pieces, examine the parts, and basically try to figure out and remove the confusion!. In other words, our first reaction to confusion is to try and over-come this condition of the mind---it's an academic drill or process!. I think this is because we can't, mentally, go further on this particular issue until this obstacle is removed!. It causes a conflict in being able to mentally progress with the issue causing the confusion!.
I suppose the term "enemy" could be loosely aligned with a negative force!. In some cases it results in someone learning something (which is always a good thing)!. For example, one can be confused with the theory of relativity, until they learn the basic parts or tenets!. So I can see "confusion" prompting academic learning!. However, who's to say that the confusion itself caused or spurred on the learning!? Perhaps a better presentation, explanation etc, could have avoided the confusion and still resulted in the same level of learning!. Instead of causing learning, it hampers the process!. In the case of confusion with an event or action, one may still learn something, but usually it's an effort to comprehend a situation or action!.
I think I agree with you Rita, confusion slows the thought-process and can be frustrating to the soul!. One other thought about this: I think it's a matter of how important or dear something is for us personally as to how much frustration it may cause us!. I am confused over the issue of the universe and the theory of quatum physics, but I don't lose sleep over it or spend days in the library trying to understand more!. But if I'm confused over exactly where or what my daughter might have been doing all night, then that confusion definently becomes my enemy - and hers! I imagine it is a matter of relativity after all!. :)

All of this is of course JMHO

CONFUSION:
Being perplexed or disconcerted; disoriented with regard to one's sense of time, place, or identity!.

No!. Not necessarily!. Some of my best learning has been in times of confusion!. If confusion is allowed to control you, it can be an enemy!. If not, then you can learn a great deal if you keep your mind open and your heart free!.

confusion is definatly an enemy to the soul!. The things that people say and do when their confused is never who they really are or what they truly mean!. I have seen people who are totally in love and then they get confused in life spill a lot of untrue words and thoughts then break up!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Not exactly!. I think confusion arises when your soul is not in accord with your intellect or actions!. Much like the nerves in your hand tell you to take your hand off the stove, the confusion is your soul telling you you're not in harmony!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No!. Confusion is a part of your soul!. Only when you are confused and need to sort things out, do you really start thinking properly and therefore discover more about yourself/your soul!.
