Jorge Luis Borges wrote something like - If you have no frame of reference, no memories and you wake up everyday and everything is new, then you cannot age!. The act of remembering events and of living in a linear manner ages you!. Ignorance is youth!. Is youth bliss!? I think it is up to the individual to decide whether youth was better than age!.

2) If someone knew what the meaning of life was and tried explaining it to you - would you get it!?
The meaning of life seems to be a bit different for everyone, as i think we've read in countless forums!. There are enough similarities to show that all of us cannot be mistaken about what this life represents!. I think we all have a way of perceiving life and, though you may not fully comprehend someone else's definition of life, you will be able to walk away with a better understanding of your own!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Being ignorant is like being an unknowing child!. There are things that you would benefit to know, but you are totally unaware of it and since you are unaware you are happily going on with your life without thinking about it!. It's bliss in the sense that you don't worry about it!.

I understand the meaning of life (took about 40 years of wondering -- no one had to explained it to me -- when I discovered it it was really quit obvious and even funny in a way and histroclly speaking most people have had the answer under their noes for centurys!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I suppose ignorance can bring a certain kind of bliss with it, but so does not being ignorant!. As for the meaning of life, I have it on good authority that our lives are about being the best and most loving human beings we can be during our time on Earth and to enjoy and appreciate all that God has created!. Just for the record, the whole saying is "When ignorance is bliss, 'tis folly to be wise"--i!. e!. there are some things that it may be better not to know!. But I think that if I were really convinced that someone knew the meaning of life, and if he or she wanted to explain it to me, I'd listen!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
