unfortunately in most cases of its use from what I have seen, it means a strong emotion, hopefully strong enough that you will sleep with me! But unfortunately it is usually subject to individual interpretation/application!.
I have found a definition which I believe that gets to the essence of the word!. Love is that state of mind which is exemplified by the greatest desire for the absolute good to the person or thing loved!. This takes away from the watering down uses like I love calamari!. No, you enjoy the taste of calamari but you don't have any deep-rooted desire for calamari to succeed!. Likewise when the 15-year-old is trying to nail his girlfriend he is not looking out for her best interest when he says he "loves her" at least not the majority of times!. In addition if a professional claims that they love the game of hockey, and then they are caught gambling on hockey games or purposefully throwing the game for profit, then this person has proved that they don't in fact love the game of hockey, they are simply using the game for their own personal gain!. But the reputation of the sport has been tarnished because of the person's bad conduct!. Someone who says that they love their girlfriend and then when they get a little irritated they commence to beating her, clearly this is not a loving thing to do!. also when a parent disciplines a child, the child might experience some temporary discomfort but ultimately the discipline is in the child's best interest and hopefully they will realize that as they age and mature!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

love is when you care for someone so much that you will do almost anything for them!. You share everything with each other!. You help each other through the hard times and never do them wrong!.
