For example, we will justify a situation and not trust our instincts, because we see this beautiful person's great spiritual qualities and feel we can change the negatives of this person!. Our instincts know, but our need to conform to this person or situation out weighs our trust in our instincts!. We question ourselves over and over, ( How can I really trust the light inside of me telling me the writing is on the wall, so leave it alone!?)!. The writing on the wall always means we must change something in our lives, which means changing ourselves!. That's a "little death", and we shrink from it - and from the unknown, unpredictable process of remaking ourselves!. Even when we know change is inevitable in life, we shrink from grabbing it by the horns!. We cling to the unknowns of familiar ways, rather than the adventure of life - largely from lack of the confidence that taking initiatives would give us!. Anyway it is one thing to just get the message and another to act in accordance therewith!. The message on the wall (documented history) relating to an earlier analogous episode (like the one we may be facing at a time) may have occurred in a very different setting and we may doubt the applicability thereof to our situation!.!. For instance, many have taken to the use of force in history to assert their authority - right or wrong - including in the field of religion!.!. Messiahs of peace and harmony have died on the cross like the Christ or in other ways, rather than use their mystic powers against the intolerant perverted authority!. Now what is the message from this episode!? To die to fulfill a prophecy or to submit to insolence to prove their tolerance or give life to their message through their sacrifice of own life!? Evidently it could mean different things to different people!.!. one to the native religious follower, another to the historian and a third to the reader from an alien culture!.!. In a secular angle, would you call it sagacious to have bombed the Japanese towns to stop an aggressive war or impelled to condemn it as pernicious act of destruction!? The painful act did stop the war and opened the gates for peace and coexistence thru formation of a UN!. The message could again be both positive and negative!. So we have necessarily to assess the messages with ref to our own setting and our own perceptions of Truth and justice!.!. (or our own fear or hostility)!. The sense of right and wrong as perceived by the perpetrator, the person affected or the third party observer could all be very very different!. Some writings could be true for all times like the Faith on a superior protective force, to some at least, but the great majority of the messages could be perceived very divergently by various groups!. For others, they like to ignore it because they are willing to take risks just to feel something inside and the reason is personal!. Like loneliness or possibly just boredom!. But the writing is in a language that is different from the language that they are familiar with!.Like in the good old days when you saw the directions and indications , at the airports , in the local language!.if I were at Moscow airport I would know how to locate the rest room! Now it is universally in symbols at all the airports!. No one can make a mistake!. Likewise if the writing on the walls were in symbols we will not be wasting our time!.
