Question: Why do some of us love animals more than humans!?

Don't you think it is just wrong for so many people to donate so much money to animal welfare groups when there are so many human beings suffering in the world!?

No one is saying that it is okay to see animals in pain, but surely we need to sort out the human problem first!. Think about the difference it could make if money given to animal charities were given to human charities!. Have some of us got our priorities disturbingly wrong!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is a very interesting question especially with the varied responses!.

Firstly i would say that it is disturbing that countries like Britain donate more to animals than children's charities!. This fact is in itself disgusting to think that most of these kind people who part with their money care for animals more than children!. This is something that all you from Britain need to think about which is more important CHILDREN or ANIMALS!.

Those who are finding it hard to distinguish between an animal and a human it is very simple mankind has been given a separate element different from all other species, CHOICE!. just for those of you who are still a little confused let me explain!. If you were to burn down the forest of lets say a tiger it would die due to having no habitat causing its demise one way or the other but if you burn a mans house he goes and builds another one!. BUT still those of you who are sceptics would still say it is because the tiger can not EXACTLY that is the point we have been given higher intelligence and the means to apply it that is the difference!.

Now to answer the question the people who have more love for animals than humans are psychologically sick to think that an animal should get more priority!. The reason why i think this is (take note that this is more in developed countries than third world countries) because people fail to register that the chicken that they eat was at one point flapping its wings!. People are so used to not seeing human suffering because of there comfortable life the forget that there is more to the world than you physically see in front of you!. There is more to the world than you see there are children starving in Africa which would cost less a month to save than feeding a cat for a week!. so people get your priorities right!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm not sure I really understand this because basically what you are saying is that one creature's suffering should be ignored until another's is dealt with!.
And how do you prioritise within that!? Do you criticise those giving their money to homeless charities because they're not giving to children's hospitals, or do you attack people who are donating to cancer research because we haven't found a cure for AIDS yet!?

Compassion doesn't have a limit, just because you care about animals doesn't mean you don't care about humans!.
If people want to show some concern for living creatures, human or animal, and actually get out there and do something to help, then who are you to criticise them for that!?

And I'm curious to know exactly how much of your own time and money you spend helping humans!.

I think you're looking at this in very black and white terms!. Caring for one thing does not mean you don't care for another!.

edit: Actually, I don't eat animals and plenty people do have something to say about that!. Once again, you are generalising to fit things in with your narrow viewpoint!.
Why is giving attention to animals stopping a person from giving it to humans!?

It is perfectly possible to care about animals and humans and the reason I made the points that I made is because it is a perfectly logical comeback to what you said!.
You are stating that if people give their attention to animal rights, they are not giving it to humans!. So by your own logic, a person giving their attention to a sick child is not giving it to a cancer patient and therefore doesn't care about cancer patients!. If you don't agree with this, then you need to accept your argument makes no sense!.

People have willed their estates to their cat!. People have left their family fortunes to the televangelist who wants you to help "buy the Lord a new cadillac"!. Is there a difference!? People have a tendency to give to that which they feel gave to them!. Tit-for-tat!.
Animals vs!. humans!?

Animal are helpless (dumb animals)!. They need our help for food, shelter, love and protection!. Humans are intelligent and can fend for themselves!. And besides, our society provides for the disadvantaged!.

I think some people do love animals more than their fellow man, and they are perfectly entitled to do that!. When we donate money to charities, it does not mean to say we love the people and animal recipient to our donations!. We donate because we are tending to the urgency of their needs!.

I would like to respond to your last question first , to which I answer Yes, some of us have definitely our priorities disturbingly wrong!. Now responding to your first question, I imagine there are more than a few reasons as to why some people love animals over other humans but in the interest of keeping this post somewhat short and to the point I will offer only one!. Animals are pure, and by that I mean, each has it's place in it's own environment, each serves a purpose that is sometimes beyond our knowledge, each possessing the strength, cunning, and durability to exist in their respective worlds!. Responding last to your second question, what could be wrong with giving money to animal charities!. Especially when the causes they champion are due almost exclusively to the actions of someone other than animals, namely human beings!. I am fully aware people the world over are suffering, and not to be heartless, but our problems are of our own devising and as such we should have to bare the responsibility for them!. In summation I am not by any means a die hard wacko vegan PETA loving nut job but neither am I an if it don't walk on two legs and and wear shoes, then **** it kind of guy!.
