1) The search for a purpose is driven by awe at the world around us, and fear/insecurity!. Logic also seems to apply in some sense!. However saying that you know the actual purpose is based in arrogance!. The search for purpose is not however!.

Water falls into the ground, the flower grows from the dirt and drinks the water!. A bee collects pollen from the flower to create honey!.

Does the water have a purpose before the seed sprouts!? Does the dirt have a purpose!? It's what you make of it!. The bee is vital for honey, the flower vital for the bee!. The dirt and water are vital for the flower!. If the flower never existed, would the dirt and water still have a purpose!? I would say the purpose finds itself!. In the sense of balance in nature- everything is connected to everything, therefor everything should have a purpose no matter how insignificant!. However in the scheme of the universe there may be no grand reason for existence, other than to exist!.

2)Yes it is arrogant to believe we can destroy the entire earth on accident to the point that no life exists!. Over time we could do significant damage to ecosystems, which would start them over until a new ecosystem developed!. It would be nearly impossible for people destroy the entire Earth and every organism!. As you stated the Earth would find ways to put us back into the balance before we actually destroyed everything, and we would have to try really hard to do that!. One of the biggest problems is that people tend to seperate themselves from nature and the Earth!. The more time you spend in a room the more you forget that you are on top of dirt, just like "outside"!. This is part of the unbalance that has occurred with such "advancement" of civilization!.

3) Cells communicate and store information just as the human mind does!. Now are they hanging out chatting about what they are going to do this weekend!? Probably not, at least hopefully not!. I wouldn't want my skin just runnin off without me!. But there could be an infinite amount of universes contained within our cells that work in a different perception of time and space, like we can't see UV light waves but they exist, and probably exist beyond our measurements!.

4) The definition of intelligence is something to be debated in and of itself!. One thing is certain - the complexities in language and communication are vast!. It'd be interesting to see two squirrels having the same discussion we are!. We don't know that animals don't have just as complex systems of communication, and in fact could be left out of such communication!. I do believe that as far as "instinctual intelligence" goes that humans are far behind most animals at fundamental levels!. Our instincts have developed to rationalization and reasoning, which can cause disctractions towards reactive instincts!. A bird doesn't need to be taught how to make its nest, or what to make it from!. Beavers aren't taught how to build a dam, yet they know somehow!. Most people can't just build a house without being taught!. This is either evidence of a greater instinctual intelligence than we have, or there is communication between the animals that we cannot observe or recognize as such!.

5)People believe we are the only intelligent beings in the universe either for religious purposes, or to feel special (arrogance)!. However, many people feel they have to see to believe!. Statistically, there is almost no doubt that we aren't alone in the universe!. Time and space may prevent us from communicating with them, or the environment in which they exist contradicts our environment, so we wouldn't look there or even recognize it as life!.

God is a concept that could actually have basis in reality!. Not exactly the "man in the sky" or a specific being referenced in a book!. When one tries to put a face to God is when the struggle begins!.

The metaphysics of Plato propose that there is 2 worlds: an imperfect perceptual reality and a perfect world of 'forms'!. Everything that we experience in the perceptual reality is an imperfect expression of a perfect form!. The mind can access these form through ideas, and while the idea may be perfect the expression can be imperfect!. The very first table that was ever built was probably lop-sided!. Yet before that table's existence there was a form for the table!. Simply stated everything that is or will be has always had the potential to be!. Not that everything is predetermined, only that everything is possible!. Maybe God is just another form that we are an expression of!? Since we create new things from seemingly nothing it has a small argumentative basis!. Maybe the universe itself is God, and we are just the universe trying to understand itself!. All possibilities should be considered, to not do so would be arrogant!.

Yes, of course all those assumptions imply arrogance on our part, but our arrogance is not entirely unwarranted!. What we must never do is to assume absolute superiority and sit at rest!.!.!.!.!.!.!. our greatest asset is our never-ending curiosity and search for truth which acts as an antidote for the arrogance and makes sure we do not end up irretrievably closed and finished in the path of progress!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i'm not doing your homework!. prove to me that this isn't some assignment your teacher gave you!. give me your answers first!.

edit: ok!.
We are stupid animals!. But exceptional in that we have a conscious, that we can think!. And because of this, we have a need to go out and collect knowledge--something we "own," something nature can not steal/destroy!. Being delusional, we have created this idiotic need to explain why we exist!. We don't have any other purpose other than to produce healthy offspring!. When people say "purpose" I want to barf in their faces, they mean so much to themselves but are next to nothing in reality!. And because they have put themselves on such a high pedestal, they feel that they are important enough to have a "purpose!." It is just a delusion!. We will destroy the earth, and I don't think this thought is due to human arrogance!. Humans are dumb, but every animal lives off the earth--but they tend to counteract their consumption in productive ways!. Humans, are grotesque in that they have consumed and consumed and are just recently "giving back to the environment!." The world is already beginning to be destroyed by human manipulation of the environment!. I have seen heroin (the bird) in my not so small city!. And a vulture!. These are not lies!. Humans are disrupting the ecosystem, and thus are disrupting the equillibrium nature enforced!. The Earth will be destroyed!. Are you trying to make the point that the destruction will occur out of human arrogance (an assumption, I understand)!? I think that humans have manipulated the environment for their needs, and as such they definitely think highly of themselves!. I do see the connection to arrogance, but it is the ultimate delusions that humans create out of their ability to think that this world is as it is now!.

I don't care to answer your other questions, these two were the only attractive ones!.

edit: edit: i'm not quite sure this is how you wanted me to answer your questions!. i did what i wanted!. i will now read your answers!.!.!.and I might add in my responses in edits today or tomorrow

edit: edit: edit: yes, my arguments seem to contradict one another, this is because i don't write/think objectively!. i grow through writing/thinking!. i begin at the beginning and change everything to better suit my desires!. why!? because i am delusional!. because i think i am important!. because i am arrogant!. just like everyone else!.

and to the person making the antiatheist argument!. i am an atheist!. i believe that god is just another delusions among many others!. he is important to some people, because these people feel that they need the unity!. god to them is someone there as a protector!. i despise the notion of there being a god!. [he is attributed with all pure and good qualities, whereas his creation the devil has all the negative qualities!. by this godlike scale, god would be first, the devil would be second and humans third!. of course, it is the devil who rapes little children--not god!. within the brackets takes his existence into consideration, hmm somewhat of a hypothetical situation] you're assuming god exists, and calling me arrogant because i believe there is no one more intelligent than me!? this is a funny fallacy!. why have you created god for yourself!? why do you think he exists!? your other arguments are also funny!. "i can think therefore plants can think" what!? we can think because of the impulses within our mind, we think because our biology is set up in such a way!. not because "god" gave us this ability!. i highly doubt that plants have feelings!. this is an exceptionally funny delusion!. if you can't hear me, i am laughing

i'd like to point out, that yes i am an arrogant person!. just like everyone else!.

life is a delusion, none of this matters much!. it is just a source of amusement!.

a rogue philosopher!? explain this to me!. i've never heard such a thing!. i'm still within the confounding boundries of high school ugh!.

EDIT
i disagree!. humans did not create god to feel more important than animals!. that is absurd and also funny!. god was created by humans for the reasons i mentioned above (i'm too lazy)!. animals are just nothing!. they are not competition in feeling "important!." animals are objects that humans kill and eat to survive!. and we are animals other animals hunt as well!. the notion of importance is something we've created for ourselves!. we think we are important because of all of the knowledge about ourselves/environment we've collected!. having all of these possessions, we are the center!. possessing makes a human important as the possesser!. we possess our life, and are thus considering ourselves as important!. i am repeating myself!.

this is interesting!. maybe we should chat sometime!. if, of course, you don't feel awkward!.

hahahaaaaaaa i just realized that you are also the person who asked the other question i responded to :) hey, you can delete your sn, i have it copied!. i really would like to chat now, but i have a government test tomorrow!. sorry!. maybe tomorrowWww@QuestionHome@Com

Even the presumption that God does not exist is arrogant!. No way is there an intelligent creator greater than myself!!

And my rationale shall be "God doesnt adhere to the man-made rules of logic, which he himself is partly responsible for creating as a subset of that creation"

And that is one of the many fallacies an atheist is guilty of!.

===

Since you pointed out that cells in our bodies are not sentient as an example!.!.!. I will expand on that!. Assuming that plants dont feel is also arrogant of us, selfrighteous of the vegetarian!. Assuming that fetuses arent real people is arrogant and self-righteous of the unwanting parent!. Assuming that life comes in the form that we define as "organic"!.

Assuming that we, as a human being, in fact do have a sentience at all, is arrogant!.!.!. dont you think!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
