No, I can't tell them "You are a liar"!. I find it too harsh!. I prefer to tell them "It is hard for me to believe this" or "This is outrageous" etc!. The most important thing is that I KNOW they are lying and I act as I should act facing a liar!. I don't believe a word they say and I go on!. It is most important I understand they lie than letting them know I uncovered them!.
I pity people who are lying since i believe it takes a lot of effort to support a lie for a long period!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have the courage, certainly, but not necessarily the desire!. It depends on 1: whether or not it's someone I care about enough to put the energy into such an act, and 2: whether or not it would do any good!.

Not everyone who is a liar can benefit from being told as much!. Not everyone who lies will ever "get it"!. It's one of those things where one should probably choose their battles with an eye towards not wasting their time or energy on people who have neither the desire nor the ability to change!. It's not about courage ,it's about how we handle this thing, the clever way!.Calling someone liar by showing some courage could make us the star of the moment ,but he won't stop there !.He would transform in to something else ,like a more clever liar!.So the best way to deal with liars is to give liars the taste of their own medicine and make them feel bad for their own wrong doings!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I make it a point not to lie!. I was once asked whether I smoke by a much loved family relative dear to me!. My cardigan reaked of tobacco and not wishing to speak a falsehood I smiled and replied ’not at this moment no,’’!. Being the good lady she is she pursued it no further!. Driving into town I noticed an inordinate number of respectable affluent Indian ladies all smoking in their cars!. It was sobering!. I don’t lie, and do not consort with people known to lie!. A mans word is his honour, if he is found to be a liar, what can you place your trust in!. Yes, but I would need concreate proof!. I wouldn't go around accusing people of doing something that they didn't do!. It is one of the best ways to deal with a liar!. But when you do go and confront the person always remember that you have to tell them the facts as to how you reached that conclusion!. I personally think you should deal with the lying until it is actually something serious, you can't saying lying isn't OK because everyone has lied at least once, and if you haven't ever lied than you aren't OK : ) But if it gets out of hand and the people are lying constantly 24/7!.!.!. even if it's little white lies, i find this the best possible solution, and to just not talk to the person after this!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There are many good answers from the group! I would add, if you do, be prepared to have your own shortcomings thrown back in your face!. Confrontations rarely remain one-sided and the person on the defense will resort to uncomfortable tactics to try and put the monkey on your back!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you do it, you must be prepared to prove it!.
Your question is a bit general to advise you as to the 'best way'!.
If this person is supposed to be a friend, then you confront him
privately with your proof and demand an explanation!.
A public confrontation will damage and embarrass!.

possibly, depending on the situation!. what you can do is ask a series of "loaded" questions that have something to do with the specifics of the aforementioned lie!. therefore trapping the liar, rendering him/her open to your verbal onslaught!!Www@QuestionHome@Com
