This is a form of what's called the Liars Paradox and goes back to an ancient Greek called Epimenides!. 'This sentence is false' is the plainest formulation!. If it's true, it must be false!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It could work, if "I promise you, I always lie" is false, because the person only sometimes lies!. It would be a lie that they always lie, but, since they lied right there in that statement, they don't always tell the truth either!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I've always thought that phrase contradicting!. The person may promise you they lie, or lie that they promise!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

It means, no matter how many promises, no matter how many, I promise promise promise! a lair is always a lair!.!. even if they try to change!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
