Question: Would you rather be settled in everything in your early 20s or still be figuring life out!?
My family puts down the fact that I am educated and even seeking post-grad education because I haven't settled in the real career world yet!. I have a full-time job, but it's not THE job, and I still have a month or 2 before I can move out on my own (I'm 24)!. I also left a 4 year relationship a year ago with my ex boyfriend and still haven't found a new man!. Plus, I'm pretty shy!. However, finding the career which fulfills me and makes me love gonig to work everyday is my 1 true goal in life!.
Meanwhile, my younger sister who quit high school and settled down in an admin job is praised!. She's also got the steady boyfriend she's been with for 5 years, is pre-engaged, etc!. He's 22 and already a cop and seeks nothing more from life than to just be a cop and marry her!. He's even too afraid to get on a plane and has no interest in traveling!. Yet!.!.!.my family thinks they have "the life!."
Am I wrong in not agreeing with thinking the latter scenario is better!? Although I'm stressed sometimes, I like that I haven't settled and that I still have mystery to my life!. I wish I got more respect!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your better off looking for that great job and going to graduate school!.
If it makes you feel better, a good friend who was once a mortgage broker told me an unbreakable trend among police in relation to their finances/mortgages/loans: They over extend themselves constantly!. They have little to no savings, and will go deeply into debt!. Maybe for their ego!. No known officer has shown to be differently financially!.
Clearly your the smart one!. Parents will tend to pamper the hurt one!. Perhaps they are merely pampering the less "focused" daughter for her self esteem!? They may not realize they are doing this!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would rather never be perfectly settled, but rather come to a state of equilibrium between knowing about life and yet constantly figuring it out!.
Your description sounds very promising!. There is an overall 'right way' to live your life, but it has nothing to do with what people think it does!. I think you could learn a lot from John Mayer!.
