Isolation, utterly, being alone away from people and things that make a difference in ones life, there is mental loneliness where the mind completely shuts down, similar to a coma, you are breathing but you are just a shell of a person, then there's the type of loneliness that a person can put on themselves that causes them to feel that being alone is easier than having to fight for a Companion in this life, socializing is completely out of the question and you keep yourself away from that and other possibilities to confront another human being!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I know some lonely houses off the road

A robber 'd like the look of, --

Wooden barred,

And windows hanging low,

Inviting to

A portico,

Where two could creep:

One hand the tools,

The other peep

To make sure all's asleep!.

Old-fashioned eyes,

Not easy to surprise!

How orderly the kitchen 'd look by night,

With just a clock, --

But they could gag the tick,

And mice won't bark;

And so the walls don't tell,

None will!.

A pair of spectacles ajar just stir --

An almanac's aware!.

Was it the mat winked,

Or a nervous star!?

The moon slides down the stair

To see who's there!.

There's plunder, -- where!?

Tankard, or spoon,

Earring, or stone,

A watch, some ancient brooch

To match the grandmamma,

Staid sleeping there!.

Day rattles, too,

Stealth's slow;

The sun has got as far

As the third sycamore!.

Screams chanticleer,

"Who's there!?"

And echoes, trains away,

Sneer -- "Where!?"

While the old couple, just astir,

Fancy the sunrise left the door ajar!

- Emily Dickinson

This poem my Emily Dickinson, shows what loneliness really is!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Having a craving for another person and not getting it!.

The end of loneliness is by ending the craving, by either satisfying it as most people do or by realising the true nature of that craving and snuffing it out with wisdom!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

True loneliness is when you cannot find your true self!. We long for our own true nature when we are alone, or with others!. Oftentimes, being with another important person brings out the best in ourselves, our own true self!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
